Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

Welcome to this weeks Friday Funday Tutorial!

This week we are going to do a little inking on our embossing folders!

Thats right. Time to play with those embossing folders and get them inky!  I do have to say I played around with 3 different folders and tried inking one side then the other. I really liked inking up the smoother side that had the valleys on it with a lighter ink. Then going over the embossed images with a darker ink! You can try it all different ways until you find what you like the most.

So this is what I did & I think it turned out best for me!

Gina K. Designs Items used:

* Stamp Set - Merry & Bright  from the Merry & Bright Kit

*Pure Luxury Card Stock - White Layering Weight & Heavy Base Weight, & Red Velvet

*Premium Die Ink - Red Velvet, Grass Green, Jelly Bean Green,

                              & Fresh Asparagus

*Die Set - Rectangle Small Set

*Fancy Ribbon  White/Gold

Take the embossing folder and open it up,

I inked up the side that the image is deep.

I used a lighter ink to do this because it will be the background.

It is really a good idea if you try this with some scrap paper or copy paper so you can see what works best! :)

Here you see the Jelly Bean Green Ink,

all over the embossing folder!

After inking up the folder gently place the paper

in the embossing  folder and hold it tight.

Run it through the embossing machine.

Open up the folder.

Remove your panel, and just be careful,

because you will get inky! :)

Have a wet wipe or what ever you use

to clean off ink and wipe the excess ink off the embossing folder.

Then using the Fresh Asparagus Ink

and gently

rub over the embossed area.

I like the way the two colors turned out!

I trimmed the panel down to  3 3/4 X 5

Then attached it to the front of the card base.

Next I added ribbon & attached the Greeting Panel.

I saved the pieces I trimmed off.  I will use one on the inside.

Then I Stamped the Holy with Grass Green

and the Berries in Red Velvet then die cut with the die from the kit.

I layered a piece of Red Velvet and White layering weight

for the inside and attached a piece of the panel

that I trimmed down at the bottom.

I also attached the die cut Holy.

Then added it to the inside of the card panel.

Here is the finished Card Project!

I hope you all have a great weekend and try this technique! :)

Remember to take a little time to get inky and Happy Stamping!
