I am excited and so honored to have been asked to host Mix It Up Monday this week! Thanks, Lori, for asking me.
I don't know about where you live, but it has been a really hot summer here already in southern Wisconsin. There are many summers we don't hit the 90 degree mark, and we have been past it several times already this summer. We are looking at another hot week with no rain ahead, so I thought that we should have a hot and cool mix it up Monday challenge! That's right, your entries in the challenge this week need to include something hot and something cool. Think hot colors like hot pink, red hot, sunshine yellow, etc. and things that are cool, such as water, drinks, snowflakes, etc. Or maybe you want to reverse it -- cool colors and things that heat you up! Mix it up and have fun, but be sure you include something that is hot and something that is cool!
My card sample for the challenge includes hot colors -- red and yellow -- and a cool, refreshing drink and strawberries.
I used the Gina K Designs Pure Luxury red hot paper for the card base and around the sentiment. The yellow and red patterned paper is from a DCWV pack and it is glittery! I stamped the margarita and the strawberry using the fabulous GKD set by Theresa Momber called Sweet Strawberries. The sentiment is from the GKD set Cool Beans (I left off the "Beans" part of the sentiment because I just wanted it to say You're Cool). I colored the strawberries with Copics, filled the glass using Stickles and put a touch of white glitter along the rim of the glass (gotta have that salt or sugar for a margarita, right?). I also used some Crystal Effects on the glass to make it look shiny, but it didn't show up very well in the photo.
Now it's your turn to get hot and cool down!
Please create and upload a new project for this challenge. You may not link a previous card/project. There is no combining of Stamp TV challenges allowed to be eligible to win a prize. However, you can combine it with challenges outside of Stamp TV. And remember you don't have to use Gina K. Designs stamps, but if you do your name will go into the drawing twice!
When you upload your card to the gallery make sure you add the tag STV12MON23 to ensure you are entered into the drawing for the prize. You can find all of the entries for the challenge here.
The deadline for this challenge is Sunday, July 1st at 8:00 pm CT.
I can't wait to see all of the great creations for this hot and cool challenge!

Kay, Great card and love the colors you used! This challenge is going to take some thinking! Can't wait to get started!
Your card is awesome. Makes me thirsty too for that fabulous beveage delight. I don't think I can enter the challenge this time around. Garden is starting to produce and we have so many things on the agenda this summer. If I get a chance will try to work something in.
Beautiful card Kay! Great challenge! I hope I can play along! I hear we are suppose to hit 100 on Thursday...are you ready for that? lol!
Kay, that looks absolutely scrumptious!! Congrats on hosting. I live in Arizona so I know hot! I will try to play this week and make something that makes me cool!
Here is my card for this challenge ~_^
Gorgeous card and fun challenge. Love the texture and details.
I'd love to send you some of Florida's rain right now!
I did a Father's Day card that meets this challenge HERE
Great challenge and good idea.
Kay your card is beautiful. I love the colors. I had just one question. I posted my card in the challenge and then I clicked on the link here to make sure I did it right. Well when I clicked on it nothing showed up. I dont know if I did something wrong or not. So I am trying to post the link here have not idea if I did it right or not. I am a few eggs short of a dozen today LOL.
Have a great day and had a great time doing this challenge, thanks!!!!
Hi Kay, Thanks for hosting our MIUM challenge and love your card.
I decided on colors from the cool palette and hot weather footwear with the flip flops in the Hello Sunshine StampTV Kit. For good measure I added a white pompom to the flip flops for a more wintery feel. Thanks for a very interesting challenge and I wish I had your icy drink right about now :) Here's my card
