Took me a while, but I finally tired this technique and I LOVE it!!!!  It's very addicting.

Question...can you store the Gamsol in a plastic pump bottle?

Comment by Donna Amos on March 2, 2012 at 5:02pm

Very niceI sometimes forget I have the pencils.

Purchased Gamsol awhile ago but never knew how to use it.  I sure do now thanks to you Gina.  Wow I love this technique.  Have your nubs for blending so I am ready.  Your card is magnificent and hope to do one similiar as I love flowers.  Thanks for the video....you inspire me to keep learning.  ekc

Thanks, Andrea.  I was so busy looking in the shopping section that I didn't see the advertisement above for gamsol.

By the way, Andrea Wyrick, you were asking how to tell what sort of pencils you have? It's actually easy to know. Watercolor pencils will literally turn to watercolor paint if you moisten them. For instance, I can touch a wet brush to the tip of a watercolor pencil and (like a pressed cake of paint in a kid's watercolor set) it will start to "melt" onto my brush, depositing paint on it. With a plain colored pencil, you'll just have a wet pencil tip, no change, no transfer of paint.

Similarly, you can draw/color/etc. with a watercolor pencil, then brush with water and you're blending/painting.  Try it with plain pencils and you just have soggy paper.

Watercolor pencils are pretty specifically packaged in the art department, so my hunch is, unless you went looking for them and bought them on purpose, you likely have regular colored pencils (be they Crayola, Prisma, etc.).

I really enjoyed watching this video.  I just placed an order but could not find where to order the gamsol.  I looked for quite awhile, but couldn't find it.  Could someone let me know what category it would be under?  Thanks for your help.  Each week I can hardly wait to see what the next video will be.  I actually made a card this weekend.  I am one of those silly people who believe they need to get all their housework/tasks done first before letting myself make a card!  Katherine
