Beautiful card! I've done something similar, but I actually ironed the paper after distressing and inking it. Ironing flattened the paper and made it easier to adhere to the mat.

Thanks soooo much for the tutorial. Masculine cards always present a challenge and this newspaper distressing is a great way to avoid flowers and frills!

WOW! What a wonderful idea...! Thanks Gina/

I have never thought about using newspaper for distressing!! However, I have used old dictionary pages and old music, but his is another great idea, because we also have a newspaper on hand and it takes the ink very well! !

And a wonderful concept for those always hard to create MALE cards! LOVE IT!

Thanks Gina!!

I have done this technique before but did it on a scrapbook page. Since I had to be sure all my supplies were acid free, I copied the newsprint on my copier and then did the technique. Regular newsprint is fine for cards because whomever you send it to will probably not keep it long enough for the paper to deteriorate but for forever type things like scrapbook pages I would definitely make a copy of newsprint or wrapping paper since they are not acid free.

Great card!!!

Tanya, Yes, sponge daubers would work too.
Janine- Just add about quarter to a half a dropper full first and see it that makes it juicy enough. It's kind of a "go by feel" kind of thing. Some people like it juicier, some don't. It's a personal preference. Great question!
