Aahhhh yes! This video has taken the mystery out of blending using colored pencils for me - hmmmm, learn something new every day! AND I especially love the container for the mineral spirits ... will have to order both immediately! Can't wait to get busy blending! I love using colored pencils and recommend using Prismacolor pencils-they are the best quality and I do use an electric pencil sharpener on them to keep the tips pointy (always keep a point) and never encounter issues - just don't ram the pencil into the machine-gently insert because what you want is the tip to resharpen).

Do NOT use an electric pencil sharpener! Prismas have a very soft lead that makes blending easy, but an electric pencil sharpener will destroy your pencils. It's best to use a high-quality manual sharpener. I especially like the sharpener made by Prismacolor, especially if I take my pencils on the road with me. It sharpens wonderfully, and the shavings are self-contained until I empty it. There are lots of companies that make good sharpeners - just look in the art section of your craft store where they sell pencils and you should find a few from which to choose.

Hi You Very Talented and Knowledgeable People,

Today I had a be nice to me day. I bought the 130 Prisma Colored Pencil Set. My question is what is the best way to sharpen them. Can I use an electric pencil sharpener? I tried using the Prisma pencil sharpener and the point still broke off on several of them.

FINALLY.. I found out what those cute bottles are for! LOL This looks fun... I've never tried it but have the Koh-i-noor Woodless Colour Pencils, so maybe I'll order a bottle as well. Thanks Gina... great technique.

Oops, this one is not up on our Vimeo site. It will be sometime tomorrow but this is a great place to see them if youtube is not working. It's our backup site and much clearer than going directly to youtube. :)
