Kathy, I answered your question under the video! :) But Just incase you check here. I used two different water base inks, Distress and Memento Just sponged on the Distress, and the Memento just put the ink pad to the paper and smoothed it around.  So I do believe if you lay the color down and then Heat Emboss, the ink should lift like in the video! :) I used a inexpensive Strathmore Watercolor Cold Press paper. Picked up at the big box store and used a coupon. It is ok for making Backgrounds. There are all kinds, I would try a couple different ones to see what works best for you.
