Tonight Melanie Muenchinger invited some of her designing friends to join in on the Gina K. Design Team Blast From The Past blog hop showcasing all of the past stamp sets illustrated by Melanie. I am delighted to be able to participate! I was honored to have been Guest Designer for Melanie's set "A Beautiful Life" back in May. I also got to preview "Arranged with Love" last April as part of the Center Stage Spotlight Design Team. Melanie's "A Year of Flowers" was the first Gina K. stamp set I purchased and her "Pressed Flowers" set was a perfect complement to that! And let's not forget her "Festive Frame" set, a favorite of mine for holiday cards and projects! Can you tell I love Mel's floral sets...lol!!!
Here is the card I made for tonight's event:
Since I was Guest Designer for A Beautiful Life, I used that set for my main image and sentiment. I also used A Year of Flowers and Pressed Flowers. I stamped the tulip frame with Tim Holtz Bundled Sage Distress Ink onto Pure Luxury Layering Weight White. I cut out the center oval with Petite Oval Nestabilities. I stamped extra tulips, stems and leaves from Pressed Flowers with Tim Holtz Tattered Rose Distress Ink then overstamped with the same images from A Year of Flowers in Bundled Sage to get the two-step stamping. I cut out all the images and paper pieced them onto the frame. The tulips were popped up. The DP is from the Basic Grey Cappella 6x6 pad.
