Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

A few years ago, I went on a fabulous vacation with my boyfriend, Shaun, and two other couples to Costa Rica. It was my first trip outside the country and boy, was is memorable! Everything was simply breathtaking! When I saw Mel's potluck challenge for this week, I knew right away that I wanted to "revisit" Costa Rica and select one of my many snapshots to use as my photo focal point. On day seven of our trip, we took a boat to Playa Huevos in Guanacaste. The picture that I chose to use for my card is one that I took when we arrived at this secluded beach. I could not believe how beautiful it was (a far cry from the Jersey Shore LOL!).

For this project, I began by distressing the edges of my CS and DP by wetting them with my water brush and roughing them up with the edge of my scissors. I used Gina's Tropical Flowers set and stamped the flowers onto white CS with SU! ink in Pixie Pink, Pumpkin Pie, and So Saffron. The leaves were stamped in Kiwi Kiss. I then cut everything out and assembled using white brads and pop dots. I then used the Relax sentiment from Gina's Lazy Days of Summer and repeated it across the bottom. What a fun challenge!

Thank you, Mel, for taking me back to one of my favorite places!

warm regards,

dee marie
