April Illustrator Challenge Blog Hop and CSS Design Team Member Search

This is one of my favorite times of the month because tonight is our illustrator challenge blog hop and a chance for you be on Center Stage this month as a Gina K. Designs DT member!

Let's begin with the challenge

I challenged the illustrators and designers to share their favorite children's book and then create a project inspired by the book they chose.

It's really hard to choose just one because I have so many memories attached to so many children's titles. But the children's book I chose for my challenge card is Harold and the Purple Crayon.

This book holds very special memories for me because it was the book that Tom read to the girls just about every single night at bedtime when they were very little.

Tom always loved reading to them and he would do it every single chance he could.

But Harold and the Purple Crayon was the most requested.

So, tonight I made this card to celebrate those memories of that sweet book.

Of course, this card had to be purple. I used the Lovely Lavender and Vibrant Violet Pure Luxury Card stock along with some old patterned paper scraps I had laying around.

I made sure the card felt like a quilt, perfect for being snuggled up in bed. And of course, I used Tami Mayberry's new set, Fairy Tales, perfect for bedtime stories.

So what's your favorite children's book?

Now it's your turn to play along with our challenge and you may end up being our next Design Team Member. Here are the challenge rules for this month's DT search:

  • Challenge: Choose your favorite children's book and make a project inspired by the book. Include a photo of book along with why you chose it and how it inspired your project.
  • Requirement: use any of our March Release stamp sets: Friends, A Beautiful Life, By Your Side, Fairy Tales, Happy Spring, Nana's Needlework, Nana's Needlework Sentiments, Sending Sunshine, Spring Mix, Spring Has Sprung
  • Post: Post your card here in the gallery at StampTV using the keyword-APRILBOOK (Since my blog is not working tonight, we will not be using a Mister Linky.) Please put you blog link in your photo notes so we can read all about why you chose that book.
  • Deadline: Monday, April 12th at 8 pm central time
  • Prize: The winner will become our CenterStage Spotlight Designer for April (the winner will receive the entire April release!, participate in our previews, release party and next month's DT search challenge!)
Now is the time to see what our Designer's chose as their favorite book and see their beautiful projects:

We hope you enjoy tonight's inspiration and we are so excited to see what you can do too!

Hugs,

Gina K.

My favourite children s books are : Dr Seuss - Oh the Places You'll Go and Robert Munsch's Love You Forever both are wonderful stories written for little boys. Since I am the mother of "my three sons" they were great hits in our house.
