Another Autumn Memory (#2)

After I completed my other card, another memory just kept coming to mind. I decided to make a card using that memory as my inspiration. For many years, Fall just wasn't Fall unless we took my son and daughter to the Apple Orchard. It always seemed to be a sunny, crisp day with hours to spare. They loved eating all they could, as we filled our bushel baskets. Trying to keep them off the ladders in the orchard was an exercise in futility.

We bought lots and lots of apples. I used to bake a… Continue

Harvest Moon Memories

I spent my teens with a great group of friends, living on a peninsula on Vancouver Island. We went to school together, Youth Group together, and some of us were even baptised together. In a lot of ways it was a sheltered existence, but we found ways to explore, dream and discover. There was a beach nearby called Island View Beach where we would always endeavour to go on a moonlit night. We'd sit on the driftwood and talk, have fun and get up…

Autumn Memories...

It was October, the year was 1989 and I had just left home for the first time to start my teaching course in London. It was a time of new beginnings, new freedom and new opportunities. Doing my own shopping, exploring new places.. and rock music! I had very big hair and skinny jeans and I was desperate to buy a leather jacket!

So it was that my new friend Sally and I skipped off one Saturday to London's Carnaby Street. It was one of those gorgeous autumn afternoons - sunny but with a… Continue

Favorite Autumn Memory

Gina's challenge this time around is to make a card that reflects our favorite Autumn memory. When my children were young, there was a really awesome Pumpkin Farm to visit.

This place is called Goebbert's and it has been there for years. Their lovely property is a destination field trip for almost all of the surrounding schools. There is a rather unique feature, which I decided to try and duplicate on my card. I can't wait to send this card to my daughter and hope that she remembers the… Continue

Favourite Autumn Memory

I was intrigued by the Design Team Challenge and wondered if I could find a way to participate, not having any (none at all!) stamps that would resemble autumn. At first I was going to try to create a harvest moon scene but when looking through my stacks of gorgeous colours, I remembered!

As a little girl growing up in Canada, Halloween was incredibly exciting and my older sister always got to wear a beautiful princess dress. It had layers of satin, tulle, puffed sleeves,…

Ticket for The Polar Express

Sam (almost 9) and Madeline (5) had to dress up as their favourite book character for Book Week at school on Friday. Initially Sam wanted to be a cat from "My Cat Likes to Hide in Boxes," but I managed to talk him out of it. The boy from The Polar Express really is his favourite favourite favourite character. So I made him a little ticket (above) with Theresa's Life is Good train stamp, found…
