A little wish card

I recently got some questions on how did I create the 3D effect on the flower. Wish I had some pictures to show the “how to”, but I hope the 5 steps below are clear enough.

  1. I stamped the flower image on two different color cardstocks (white and light blue stocks).
  2. With the help of copic markers I colored the entire flower image stamped on the white cardstock, and used it as my base image.
  3. With the…

Thank You to Melanie

This has been such a fantastic experience being able to work with Melanie. I have so much to thank her for. First of all for this wonderful opportunity and second, because of Melanie, I have made a new friend right here in Bad Axe! Her name is Cindy and I had the priviledge to meet her about a week ago. She reads Melanie's blog faithfully and she recoginized my name because she knows my husband. Cindy, if you are reading this, I think that we are going to have a long and…

Gina's Guest DT Movie Challenge times TWO

I chose an excellent animated movie for my inspiration. Nemo's father overcomes many fears and challenges while looking for his son. There are lessons that can be applied in all of our lives, with determination. We just have to try!

Here is my card, where I used the Quite a Catch stamp set. I used this sentiment to say "you're a star" just like Nemo.…

A stroke of genius!

Tonight I made a window valance out of ribbon for my stamping studio. Sometimes I think I am a genius, other times, not so much. Glad when those amazing creative moments strike. Eureka!

I simply took two colors of 1 1/2 inch wide ribbon and made 25 - 8 inch long ribbons and looped it around a tension rod. I used about 25 pieces of ribbon. It's a basement studio so I used a bright fuscia solid color ribbon and a turquoise and yellow plaid ribbon and alternated them on the rod. Will post a… Continue

More Gifts from the Sea

Melanie is such a talented artist. Her stamp illustrations and her designs are amazing!

Whenever I see this set it makes me think of textures. I am constantly looking at items that could be repurposed for a card. I love to check out the aisles at our local dollar store for such treasures. On my last trip there I found a beach bag and some laundry bags that fit what I was looking for.

This card was…
