Harvest Moon Memories

Posted on September 20, 2010 at 4:18am 6 Comments

I spent my teens with a great group of friends, living on a peninsula on Vancouver Island. We went to school together, Youth Group together, and some of us were even baptised together. In a lot of ways it was a sheltered existence, but we found ways to explore, dream and discover. There was a beach nearby called Island View Beach where we would always endeavour to go on a moonlit night. We'd sit on the driftwood and talk, have fun and get up…

Favourite Autumn Memory

I was intrigued by the Design Team Challenge and wondered if I could find a way to participate, not having any (none at all!) stamps that would resemble autumn. At first I was going to try to create a harvest moon scene but when looking through my stacks of gorgeous colours, I remembered!

As a little girl growing up in Canada, Halloween was incredibly exciting and my older sister always got to wear a beautiful princess dress. It had layers of satin, tulle, puffed sleeves,…

Ticket for The Polar Express

Posted on September 18, 2010 at 9:00pm 1 Comment

Sam (almost 9) and Madeline (5) had to dress up as their favourite book character for Book Week at school on Friday. Initially Sam wanted to be a cat from "My Cat Likes to Hide in Boxes," but I managed to talk him out of it. The boy from The Polar Express really is his favourite favourite favourite character. So I made him a little ticket (above) with Theresa's Life is Good train stamp, found…

Glad you had a good time in the US. So much to see and do. We lived in NZ for almost 10yrs. but never did cards their. Our son lives close to Christ Church, it is sad and worrysome that the US doesn't cover Aussie and NZ very much. So news is slow in coming. I talked to my son, and the last after shock woke them up. said, these may continue to come for at least 6 months. Terrible to have to live without knowing. Our daughter in Aussie, doesn't live where the floods are but our hearts are both downunder and kiwi. Welcome home and anxious to see your new cards when you can. PS.. I think I would have gone craft shopping first over cloths, since the price difference. However; its what makes you happy, and that's what a holiday is for.  have a good day

Hi Susan, I am glad to  be part of the Downunder Stampers; I love your sunset for the memories card. and also the trees with flower soft. It really makes them look soft enough to touch.  Since I have family downunder but am an American, I enjoy reading discussion from all the ladies.  Noticed my logo for stamptv and my name isn't on the friends? It is in Marcelle B. site. Anyway Howdy from Texas and have a good day. By the way we are 65f today, but it can get hot in the summer like 103f.
