Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

This card's penguin image from the Merry Little Christmas stamp set is going to be used by me for a Valentine. I thought they were a cute couple. I also printed out some digital paper from Gina called Penny Candy in black as that is all I can print on my printer. But I took a red stamp pad and swiped on the red to make it colorful. I stamped the penguins in black onto white cardstock and die cut around them using a Spellbinder die. I also diecut a border piece in red to layer that on. I added the bling heart to the image. This was all mounted onto the black layer which has the Seeing Spots embossing folder used which is by Cuttlebug. I then added the ribbon. Next is the pattern paper layer, which is laid onto a red cardstock. And this was all added to the base card of white cardstock. I hope you can see the pattern paper details a little bit but since I only can print in black, it may not show up too well.

Gorgeous card, Verna, these penguins are really cute.  I've been anxious to use them myself and now you've given me some extra inspiration.

Oh I haven't used that stamp yet, aren't they cute? Love the bejeweled heart and that ribbon!

Hi Verna - another super-cute card! Thank you, too, for the 'tutorial' - knowing what you used, from paper to stamps, to inks, to dies is BONUS info, especially in my 'new-comer' state. You're helping me to make my wish list....So glad to see you're using the Cuttlebug. I LOVE my Cuttlebug. Silhouettes and other technology may be the 'tools of the future' for card-making, but for now, I'll stick with my little 'bug. Looking forward to doing a full-on scouting of your photos once we're back from our weekend trip to my home city. Four hours in sketchy road conditions...still, well worth the venture to see my family, and especially my 2 1/2 year old niece and 8 month old nephew. Time to find my down parka..sorel boots...mitts...scarves...

What a cute idea! I haven't used my penguin stamp yet, but you've given me something to think about. It really is a beautiful card!

Very sweet!  I love how you did the little sequin red heart inside the other heart.

This is beautiful. Those penguins are just to cute. Your right - it does make a great valentine card. I don't seem to think of things like that.

Blessings,

Kat

This is so pretty Verna. Lots of work has gone into this card and I really appreciate the effort you have made to make this card look so lovely. Love the red & black colours. Thanks again for playing in my challenge. You are a gem.
