Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

I made this card for the Year End Countdown challenge to use the distressed newspaper background technique. My hubby and I used to eat donuts or bagels with the paper pretty regularly on Sundays, until recently, so this pairing just spoke to me. I used a marker to just ink up the outlines of the donuts - this card is for a man and I didn't know if the sprinkles were too 'feminine'. LOL! I don't know if you can tell, but being inspired by the use of the Stardust pens I decided to try Sakura's Glaze pen on the donuts instead of Crystal effects to make the frosting on the donuts shine - it worked!

This card is one of two that I made for a recovering police officer who was injured in the line of duty. If anyone else is interested in sending him a card to lift his spirits please PM my friend Barbie 50 here on Stamp TV, she can give you the address. I believe his favorite hobby is fishing if you are interested.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to look at my card. I hope you all have a happy & healthy new year!

It's real newspaper.  If you can call the crappy free-on-your-doorstep-every-Friday paper 'newspaper' that is.  ;)

What a great card!!! I have a question- Is the "newspaper" real or is it cardstock? If it is real did you have to do anything to it so the ink won't get on you? Thanx- Sorry probably a dumb question.

Awesome card! Those donuts look good enough to eat! Perfect card for a man and I'm sure your police officer friend will really appreciate it. I hope he is doing well.

Remember when I said I would try to cut back on supplies?

I need a clear gel pen =)
