Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

After rewatching a video from Jennifer McGuire in which she used a flamingo, I went through my stamps and picked the cat to try her technique. I used a piece of acetate 11" x 4 1/4" scored at 5 1/2". Used a Cuttlebug ef and embossed the front of the card. Partially die cut the cat from Frisky Felines which I stamped using GKD Slate and coloured it using Prismacolor pencils - 50% cool grey and blush pink with gamsol. Die cut the 'hello' 3 times - twice in white and once in black - from a set of dies in my stash. I then used Nuvo Crystal Glaze on the letters. Used a stencil from my stash for the background using GKD Key Lime. Stamped the ball of wool using GKD Tranquil Teal then cut some cotton of a similar colour and wound it across the card to the cat. I then cut three pieces of cs the same size as the front and layered one behind the front to hide the adhesive and then did the same on the inside and back of the card. Added Wink of Stella to the cat and the ball to give a bit of sparkle. Thanks for looking!

Awesome card and a typical cat trick to bat that ball of yarn around.  The embossed background works perfectly with your image.

What an amazing card Jan. That kitty is perfect with the ball of wool and using the acetate this way is inspired. You make some really lovely cards my friend.

Wow Jan your card is awesome :) I actually was looking this video by Jennifer McGuire, I watched it a few times and thought well I am not brave enough to try this technique, all I can say is Jan you nailed it :).  As Judy has mentioned love how you have added the yarn from the wool ball it is really effective.  Super card :)

WOW! Jan your card is awesome. Your coloring on the cat is wonderful. I love how you've added the bit of thread to the ball of yarn. Love the stenciled background you've created. Thanks for all the details.
