About me:

I am from Upstate NY (just north of Albany) I currently live in a small town called Clifton Park.  I grew up in Niskayuna (just across the river from Clifton Park) and attended college locally (at SUNY Cobleskill and the University At Albany).  I have a few degrees (I have an associates in Travel & Resort Marketing), spent time as a travel agent before returning to school to get my bachelor and master degrees from UAlbany in Interpersonal and Intercultural communication. I spent several years working in the human services field as a direct care worker and case manager for New York State for the Office of Developmental Disabilities.  I officially retired from NY after my oldest daughter was born. I started doing some computer work for a health care research firm in 1998 and started working out of my home so that I could stay with the kids and get a little extra income. My brother in law installed photoshop on my computer and I started playing around with it for fun and taught myself how to do all kinds of fun things.  I grew to love stamping and became a member of Splitcoaststampers, getting really involved in their challenges.  Watermarks and blogs became the rage and I started helping out fellow stampers by creating watermarks for them. I was on several design teams for various stamp companies, but also I really enjoyed creating things online. One day I was asked to submit designs for a stamp company....suddenly my designs were accepted as stamp sets. This past year, I made the switch to Gina K. Designs and could not be happier with my decision!

My family:

I met Todd in 1985 in high school. We have been inseparable since he wished me happy birthday in the hallway while I was walking to gym class. I have been married to him for 19 years (20 this summer) and we have 6 incredible kids (5 girls and 1 boy). They all sing, swim, ski and love school!  We are truly blessed. I have a wonderful family (2 sisters, a great brother in law), 2 brothers (and their wives) and 2 nieces and 2 nephews. Our best friends (Debbie, who is a new addition to the Gina K. family and her husband Chris) live a few miles away and we see them and their girls every week.  We have a two year old miniature golden-doodle named Percy Jackson (after the character in the Last Olympian series).  Todd's parents have both passed, but my parents are local and very involved in my kids lives. They snowbird in Florida for a few months every winter and return to the area just in time for spring!

How I started stamping:

When I started stamping and paper crafting.- growing up I liked putting my photos in those sticky back albums with the clear plastic film. I would write on little colored scraps of paper and document trips and different events during high school and college. Then in 1999, after the birth of my second daughter, my mom had a stamping party. I was in heaven!  I have been hooked ever since!

My favorite stamping tools:

I love my copic markers and embossing folders...but recently purchased a cameo and really love how I can use it to make backgrounds and custom tags and elements for cards.

My favorite stamp set or series:

I loved my Wicked stamp set - I used it a TON - even using the skull and crossbones for boy birthday cards.

What I love that isn't stamping related:

I love to read and spend time with my kids.  They are all competitive swimmers, so I spend many evenings shuttling them back and forth to the pool.   I am an AVID New York Giants fan and my family is really into watching various sports (NY Rangers hockey, Celtics basketball and NY Yankees baseball).  We love reality TV (Survivor and the Amazing Race)!  Our family really enjoys traveling and we have had the pleasure of experiencing some really fun vacations over the past few years. Todd and I are active in our church and are very involved in a local charity called Hannah's Hope Fund, co-chairing their annual Ball (
