Thank you to all those of you who have replied to my question regarding storage of blocks.  I have quite a few and will need to re-think my storage system.

Comment by Terri Young on February 12, 2018 at 9:42am

I have been using the small binders for over a year. I bought them and the clear page protectors at Office Depot. I place my stamps on one side of the white plastic board from GKD, and add a cover picture over that. Then I add the matching dies on the back side. That way I can take 1 page out and keep everything together if I am working at home or on the road. I currently have 6 3" binders and 3 1" binders.

As for my block stamps, I use the clear cases from GKD (the full kits come in one). The thickness of the block stamp is just right to fit into these containers, I can stack the plastic holders and search quickly and can see an entire group at once and not have to remove a layer to see what is below.

Hope this makes sense.

As for losing our mojo, well, we just need to sit down and do it.

If I were to challenge y'all, I would say pull out 1 stamp set you haven't used yet (or haven't used in a long time) and create a card.

Reading with loads of interest and staying warm!

My blocks are in a small sturdy box that sits on the corner of my work space. It holds the blocks,  3 kinds of tape and a few small triangles. My larger one is in the tote that sides at my feet and has the copics, brushes and hand held punches.

Oh I like those binders Lisa, may have to check into those sweeties.

Lisa, I'm still getting notifications when there's a comment in the Addicts Group and in the Members Sharing Forum (tho not much activity there). I do miss the follow button on our postings. I just try to check back a day or so after I post a card (though I haven't posted for a while).

I visited another Hobby Lobby over the weekend and the gold binder wasn't marked down, nor were the black ones. With their 40% off coupon its still a nice savings. I may pick up a couple more, especially now that they are also carrying the pockets.

With rearranging my craft area, I'm finding some other long lost or forgotten items and stuff that I'm trying to repurpose. I managed to find two Christmas incentive sets that I couldn't locate when I was setting up my binder, as well as an embossing folder that had fallen on the floor and slid under a shelf.

I finally got some inspiration for DH's Valentine. Hope I can get it finished in time to enter it in the Mod Squad. I may even decorate the envelope for this month's challenge (usually I just tuck the flap in the cards I give him so I can reuse the envelope LOL). He does the same for the cards he buys me, so I have a collection of larger envelopes if the need arises.

Judy, the binder you bought cheaply at Hobby Lobby is one that I have.  The pockets that came with it hold a lot and those laminated sheets work well in it.  Great find!  Mine is black, but I really like the gold.

Lesley, my acrylic blocks are stacked on my work surface.  I saw the post you are referring to.  She is quite organized, but she has nearly 3 times as many blocks as I have.  I doubt I need a cutlery box for my cubes.

I like the idea of using a sketch.  Maybe somebody can find one from the link that Bonnie posted several weeks ago.  I know I placed that file on my Kindle so I could easily find it, especially in my craft room.  I often take it with me when I go upstairs.

I am enjoying reading the posts that were commented yesterday.  I sure miss the follow button, but will survive.  I just need to remember to look at the last update date and think if I have been there since that date or time.

Thank you Judy for taking the time to reply to my query. Very much appreciated.

Hi Lesley,

I have two four drawer cassette holders that I use primarily for ink, but I have a couple empty drawers that hold most of my acrylic blocks quite nicely. I do have some larger ones that I got for some of Melanie's frames before I got a MISTI. These are stored on a larger drawer on my stamp table.

Hello everyone, I have just been catching up on the comments as for some reason not receiving the Stamp TV addicts by email. Fortunately found the latest comments. Interested to know how you all store your blocks. I saw an interesting post a few days ago that one stamper (not a Gina K subscriber) stores hers in a cutlery storage box from Ikea. Seemed to work well for how, but would love to know how others store blocks. Thanks heaps.

OK, so here’s the binder I talked about yesterday. It comes with 5 pockets that are large enough to hold one of the binder sheets that used to come in the stamp sets. I have two incentive sets on each side of the binder sheet. On the left side of the picture, I’ve shown the index sheet that shows what sets are in on that binder sheet. I’ve just created a Word table, then copied pictures of the sets from the store and resized them. The index sheet will actually be stored in the front of the binder. I’ve included when the incentive was released and any other notes I want make. I’m hoping this will make it easier to find and use the incentive sets.

I finished getting all my GKD cardstock in the file tub today. I was amazed at how much I had. I had ordered the Color Companion sets Gina used to sell, then when she came out with the seasonal collections and the neutrals, I ordered a pack of each. I also ordered some packs in my favorite colors. By the time I got all the cardstock from the kits added to the tub, wow – there was a lot – in fact I took out the heavy White, heavy Ivory, Black Onyx and Fresh Asparagus and stored them in the plastic storage boxes the kits come in. In addition, I still have a wide variety of colors from various Recollections collections from Michael’s.

I think we could challenge each other. Although it’s fun to win prizes, it would be fun for someone to come up with a technique, a sketch or a theme and for the rest of us to see what we could come up with to meet the challenge.

hi all: Great idea about tools Bonnie - I have a jewel picker too but it is different than the one you got. I use it all the time as my arthritic fingers don't always work for picking up tiny bits and pieces. And I'm like Judy in that when cleaning up a few things I found two stamps I had been missing and one circle die I thought I had lost. They get caught up in other stuff and my temporary tables have been difficult to work on especially for stamping as they flex slightly if I push on them too hard. One of my tables was so full of stuff it took an hour to put it away.  I used to be much tidier when working but I have found if I'm too tidy then I lose the creativity and I've learned to just go with the flow and clean up later. I don't allow myself to keep buying stuff either - that is another lesson I learned - we think we want it or need it, buy it and then don't use it or only use it once. Now I think about it for a while before setting out to purchase something on sight.

As to mojo - I find Pinterest and the stamptv galleries to be a great source for ideas and I save anything I want to try. I tend to stay away from the rest as I can't keep up with it all and don't want to try. I look at Facebook and comment on a few things as well as post one or two things but it isn't my go to place that is for sure. When I first found StampTV I realized that I had a lot of stamps I had never used so I challenged myself to use them all at least once in some way. It helped to keep me motivated and helped me to try new things although at first was no help at all for any of the challenges if the aim was to try to win. I'm still challenging myself this way and think I've managed to use about half of what I own so far. I have at least listed all my stamps in an excell file and gotten them stored properly although I still have to colour code them to be able to easily find what I need. Have done all my stencils and embossing folders too and my new drawers have all been made to fit them so they can be filed properly.

There is a store in a suburb not that far from my home that is similar to a dollar store but with better quality stuff and most of it is from Japan. I purchased some grids (don't know what else to call them) that can hang on the wall and I also got some containers that hook onto the grids - I store all my brushes, glue tubes, scissors and items like this in the containers and they are always in front of me when working. I also purchased the Distress Ink holders from StampNStorage and they sit on my desk easily in reach. I need to buy another one as I have more inks now and I'll also be getting the paper storage units that they sell too. Didn't want to get them until my new units are in so I can see exactly where things will go and how much I will need.

You know I do believe that we can challenge each other with a card idea and that would help us to stay motivated . I guess we would have to figure out who is going to set the challenge each week and take it from there. We watched a Barbra Striesand concert on Netflix the other evening and from one of her backdrops I got a neat idea for a card. I wrote it down so I wouldn't forget and am going to see if I can create a card. May not get to it for a few days though as my stuff isn't easily accessible until I've put it into the new units that are coming on Wednesday. I won't even have my computer available from Tuesday afternoon until sometime on Thursday. That is going to be tough, but I'll cope.

Well I had better get packing as I still have some stuff to store so the installers have room to work. Tomorrow my hubby and a good friend are going to move an existing unit to a different wall and a bookcase to the basement so I had to empty it all. too heavy to move if full of stuff even if all we have to do is swing it out and around. Will add pictures when it is all complete and before I mess up the work tables lol. Hugs to all
