Hi! I just tried foiling for the first time the other day. I have a Scotch laminator that I've had for several years and don't want to invest in another if I don't have to. I only tried a couple of…Continue

So I tried this - copied a die, foiled, and then die cut. The image was not the best, could be my printer. Did not foil in all places. Received my toner pen (which Gina is now carrying) and also Deco glue. Tried to fix with toner pen - not the best - tip is very thick - will work great for some items, just not this. The glue on the second one spread - said 30-60 seconds to dry, needs more than that. Probably won't try this again.

Just watched a Utube video - the gal copied her die on a laser printer, foiled it and then die cut it. This created an outine of the die foiled and the edge of the die cut is foiled. Will try tomorrow and let you know how it works and post a picif I can figure out how!

Hi everybody! So glad to see this group!

I also have the Heidi Swapp Mini Minc Machine, and I love it. Haven't had any problems with it missing spots yet. You do have to remember to keep the shiny side of the gold paper up facing you when you put it through. That helps tremendously.

I haven't tried using the glue or pen or anything. I'll wait until I see some more videos on that.

Looking forward to learning some tips to improve ! One thing I do is when the foiled image comes out of the machine,is to lightly rub over it with a cloth before removing the foil. I think it helps to cover any missed spots.

I use my embossing buddy before and after I copy the image or if using a preprinted one, right before I put it through the laminator. This seems to help, but we are super dry and lots of static. Or try taping the back of the card, like taping off embossing powder. Hope the helps.

Awesome!  So glad you got this group rolling.  I tried to foil earlier.  This time I took the advice and had my bright side away from the paper I wanted the foil to transfer to.  But when I pulled the paper from the foil, there were spots.  I guess maybe lint or something got on my foil or the paper.  I cut the paper yesterday, put it back in the plastic kit cover, but I guess lint could have gotten on the paper.  Has anyone else had this issue?
