So once again I decided to try my machine today for a very simple project. For once it scanned easily because I had a very bold simple image. But could I get it to cut properly? NOOOO! Either it just…Continue

Welcome! I love mine and basically use it to stamp and cut. It does a lot more, but that is what I wanted it for. Also, print out the pdf's and cut them and then stamp. I have also uploaded several svg files in the online software and use those. Fun machine!

I am the proud new mother of a Brother Scan 'n Cut. So far...so good. I joined the discussion forum of Silhouette vs. BSC last summer and am pleased with my decision. I am a teacher, so I won't have time to really play for another 2 months---then look out!!!

Just uploaded an SVG file and it gave me an error that it had resized as larger than the mat. Do any of you know how to resize it in Canvas to the original size? I di a select all, but can seem to figure out the next step. Thanks! I purchased several digi files (they were all just .$.99) which I rarely do, so can just trash if they don't work but were cute Easter baskets, boxes, etc.

Thank you Diana. I'm so excited about this group. If I have time, I'll try to stop by the store where I purchased my SNC.  The lady that did the demo for me before I purchased it, was really good and she may have some suggestions.

Debee - Welcome. That is my exact situation - need to take a day or two and just play. Or maybe find an email for one of the gals that are doing the videos and ask. I'll let you know if I learn any new tricks!

I'm so glad to see this group.  I don't know anyone who owns a SNC so it's great to be able to share thoughts and information. I've had my machine since late last fall and haven't play with it as much as I've wanted.  I found you can choose the size of the border if you do the direct scan n cut, but if you save the pattern you can no longer select a border size.  I'm hoping I'm missing something too as that would be such a nice benefit.

Give it time - I am just getting comfortable with mine. Have had it for 8-9 months! It will do so much but I use it mainly for stamping and Diect cut, usually with a small border. Saves the hands! You have to stamp with a fairly dark color, but it does pick up Moonlit Fog (think it is my favorite GK color). Just play with it and the pre-loaded images first and have fun!

I don't know enough about my new toy to even ask a question yet!

Yes, those are the options, but if you Scan and Cut, I can't figure out how to put the border around the image. I keep watching videos but have never seen anyone do it with the border and save it. I'm still learning - thinking maybe if I do it and save it to the USB and open in Canvas, I might be able to do it. Love the machine for just stamping and Direct cutting images!
