Hi Everyone! <3
Are you ready for a change in weather?
I am... :)
This week I wanted to do a fun and fast card to maybe get you motivated
to start some Holiday Cards if you haven't. As hot as it has been,
I wanted to make something wintery and fast to help cool off this crafty room. :)
I pulled out a couple of Christmas / Winter sets
from past kits to create this card project.
This is a emboss resist technique with the greeting banner flapping in the blizzard! LOL... If you haven’t started your Christmas or Holiday cards,
doing a quick card might be something
that can get you ready for all your holiday card! :)
This weeks card project uses:
Gina K. Designs -
*Stamp Sets - Home For The Holidays and Christmas Wishes
*Pure Luxury Card Stock - Heavy Base & Layering Weight - White, and Ocean Mist (inside)
*Premium Dye Ink - Ocean Mist, & Turquoise Sea
*Dies - Home For The Holidays
*Fine Detail Embossing Powder - White
Spectrum Glitter Pen, CG1 Spectrum Nior Marker, Therm-o-web Foam Squares
First I used a embossing magic pad and wiped the laying weight panel all over to help clean the paper from any oils that might be on it. Then use Versa Mark Ink and two different snowflake images. Randomly stamp all over the layering weight panel and cover with the white embossing powder. Heat emboss and then I cut it down to 3 3/4” X 5”
Next using your Ocean Mist Ink and a sponge dauber apply the ink all over the background and cover the whole panel.
Next grab the images and stamp them in Turquoise Sea
on a piece of layering weight white paper.
Then die cut or fussy cut them out!
I only ended up using one snowflake and the mittens.
I used a thin piece of scrap paper and stamped the greeting in Ocean Mist
and covered it with Spectrum Clear Glitter Pen... twice.
It gave it a nice frosty look! Burrrr....
I hope you will have fun making a quick winter card to kick off your holiday card if you haven't started yet... or if you have, maybe this will give you a reminder what a fast way to create pretty cards to send for the holidays!
Here is the finished card:
Thank You for stopping by!
I am really ready to make some fall cards,
so you know what is coming next week! ;)
Have a great week everyone and see you here next Friday! <3
Remember... take a little time to get inky!
Your card is beautiful and I wish I could snag one of those snowflakes, or that it was cold enough to wear those mittens! Anyway, it is still very hot and humid here in FL. I am going to turn the air conditioner way down when I make my winter card so I will be more in the mood! Hubby won't like that, but I will be quick! It is still in the mid 90's the humidity is way up there too! TFS
LOVE IT !!! Such a great fast winter card. Great way to kick off the holiday card stash!! Thank You!!
