Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

Hi Everyone!!!

Come on in… :)

We have a fun stuff going on!  <3

Remember this is the First Friday of the Month and...

it is Challenge Time! :)

That means someone will win a bag of

goodies from Gina K. Designs

Also this challenge runs to the end of the month so

you can have plenty of time to play and you

can combine this challenge with other challenges! :)  <3

And we have a winner from last Month's Brick Wall Challenge!

Hehehe...

So stick around and have a little fun!  :)

You all have been working real hard and learning fun stuff,

so for the Challenge:   It is Watercoloring!!! :)

You can watercolor backgrounds, images, both, & with what ever.

You can have splashes, dots, embossing, die cut…

Just mention in your post what is watercolored!

Easy right!  :)  <3

So you all have fun playing and creating!

This is what I did for the challenge.  :)

They were made using the following:

 Gina K. Designs Products:

***

First card

*Stamp Set: "Made With Love"   from the New Kit "Made With Love"

*Pure Luxury Card Stock: Tomato Soup, Black Onyx, & Turquoise Sea

*Premium Dye Inks: Black Onyx, Blue Lagoon, Tomato Soup, & Sweet Mango

Spectrum Noir Aqua Paper, Staz-on, Wink Of Stella, dots from stash

 Rubber Cement , Adhesive Eraser

I taped down my paper, I used some washi tape that I have.

Any low tack tape works fine! I usually use Painters tape,

but the grandkids have used it and I can't find it so

this had to do for now!  LOL

I placed the stamps around where i kinda wanted them just to

see how it might look!

Second Picture Shows the items I used.

Something new for you… :)

The Rubber Cement you should be able to find it at a lot of places.

I also have one brush that is only for the rubber cement.

You don't have to use it, but I wanted my background to go

across and not around the images

There is also a art masking liquid product that is blue so it is

easy to see where you have put it.

But to remove the products, I have a adhesive eraser.

I did just use my fingers to roll the rubber cement off the project, but had a problem with it leaving a little ink behind, because I didn't wipe off the excess ink from the masked image before I started removing it!

I am showing you the third picture,

only for the paper being taped down properly!  LOL..

Water and color got under the piece that is only taped down in areas.

So my advise to you would be to tape all the way around and I

cut the paper a little larger

than I need so I can cut off the white part If need be...

(Sshhhhh… I usually don't tape down every time!)

Stamped the images with the Staz-On

You can see I'm putting on the rubber cement, and it can be a bit stringy…

I just kind of push it around!

If you tilt the paper you can see where you have it.

It is hard to get it perfect, so I just do the best I can!

I dries not so shiny!  :)

*******************

So I start with the Blue Lagoon Ink and smushed on the kraft mat.

You can use what ever you have that is usable for watercoloring!

In the second picture you can see how the color beads up on the image

with the masking rubber cement on it! then you can just wipe it off with a paper towel.

Then let the background dry real good!  :)  <3

Remove the tape gently.

Above you can see where I put down some Sweet Mango and Tomato Soup Inks.

So That is what I used to start coloring with!  I used a very small paint brush.

I added color, it started looking splotchy, I let it dry almost all the way,

the added more color!

When It was all dry I made the card!  :)  <3

I did go in with a little Blue Lagoon and add some to a few white spots

where I got the masking liquid over my lines.

************************************

Second Card:

*Stamp Sets: Made With Love from the New STV Kit- "Made With Love"

and the incentive stamp set Massive Messages

*Pure Luxury Card Stock:  Apple Mint, Black Onyx, & Tomato Soup

*Premium Dye Ink: Black Onyx, Tomato Soup, & Sweet Mango

*Black Onyx Ribbon

Versa Mark Ink, Staz-on, embossing folder, watercolor pencils, bling from stash

I stamped the butterflies on a piece of Watercolor paper using Staz-On

Then Colored the same way as above, just didn't mask these off!

Cut out the smaller one, and focused on the one with the wings stretched out!

After watercoloring and letting it dry.

I used the watercolor pencils (One Blue & One Green)

to do a background!

Added water to give me the watercolor look and then decided after it dried,

to cut it out with a die! I used the washi to tape down my die.

You sure don't want that thing to move..  LOL

As you can see, on the acrylic block I added some tomato soup ink, because I wanted a little more depth on the wings! And I got the results I was looking for!  :)  <3

The second photo, is all the images and background that were colored.

I ended up Not using the cut out butterfly, but I will save it for another card!  :)  I also coated the butterflies in Wink Of Stella!  :)  All Sparkly!!!  :)

The finished cards!

Here is a look at the kit that this stamp set came from!

Here are three cards from the past that Were watercolored too!  :)

I sure hope you all enjoy watercoloring… There are so many wonderful videos. And so many ways to create so many different looks. Lots and Lots of different things to use!  :)  <3

Awesome watercolor cards!  & congrats to Dorothy!

Karen, you are so sweet! Not shy like that. Shy to share my work. Most of the time I feel like it isn't very good or good enough to share. :( But I will give it a try.

You will be surprised!  Just go for it! :) Please share! <3 I'm sure it is better than you think! Some people come here and know what they are doing and that is awesome! But so many haven't really made cards before, or they are looking for a new hobby.  Some have a natural flair for it, some that flair grows. We all learn and I hope to learn new stuff all the time.
So in a since when new stuff comes along we are learning it together! Can't wait to see your creations!  :)  <3
