Hi there Mich Stampers - As we are all aware, winter is upon us and some of us are a little "slower" getting into the stamping mode. I keep looking at ideas and am going to try to post a project inspired by Gina K. Also, I'm hoping to show you a handpainted card completed today with the inspiration coming from my years in the ceramic industry. We called it fantasy painting and requires double and triple loading of your brushes. I think if you wanted to go with that type of idea, you can use your fancy scrolls and appropriate sized leaves and flowers. I think I'll be playing with that idea soon.
How are you getting inspired to create? Sometimes old ideas are fun to revisit.
Enjoy the rest of January and post some of your ideas!

Comment by Dianne Beans on December 26, 2011 at 1:36pm Barb--Your card is beautiful. I can't wait to get home and back to my stamps, paper, and ink. We will probably be in Tennesse until the middle of next week. Have a "Happy New Year."
Hope you can see this card. I had ordered the lady from a company in England and am excited about the detail.
The beautiful recycled paper purchaded in Ann Arbor is expremely delicate and perfect for creating elegant feminine cards. The other stamps are from Rubber Stamp Tapestry while the inks were Versa and Color Box.
Now my challenge for all our stamping friends in 2012...have a creative year and continue to develop your own styles. Try at least one new technique then "improve" it. Tell what worked or didn't.

Comment by Joyce Thurston on October 1, 2011 at 6:58pm haven't tried it with stamping but I have done "smoking" with painted pieces. It gives a lovely marbelized look. Have to seal it with something (varnish) or the soot will rub off of the paint. How does it hold up on paper?
Thanks Barbara. Are you into the card making or scrapbooking? I love them both.
What do we do in the group? Share tips and ideas?
Hi Valley and welcome to the Mich group. I live farther south in Dexter, a little west of Ann Arbor. Hope to hear from you in our group!
God bless -
