Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

Calling all Chicago area stamp fiends!
Date: Saturday, March 19, 2011
Place: Archivers, 2212 S. Randall Rd., Algonquin IL 60102
Time: store opens at 10AM and closes at 11PM
What to bring: some fun project(s) you want to work on or show off. No supply restrictions - bring what you like. We all like to be enabled, right? :)
I will bring my Grand Calibur, Texture Boutique, and dies/folders/plates I have. Feel free to bring your dies to use in my machine. FYI - The Grand Calibur will not accept Sizzix Originals or Bigz dies, but I do have the adaptor that will work with Sizzlets, Embosslits, and Embossing Folders.
Maybe one of the local ladies could bring a Cricut to share?
Please RSVP in this discussion and indicate around what time you will be arriving (just an estimate) and about how long you plan on staying. This is only so we reserve enough seats, since space is limited and could fill up. Not that I haven't crafted on a floor before. :)
I'm so excited just typing this!!!!!

Michelle, is that a Bullmastiff in you profile picture?

I'm in!!  It's in my calendar and I've just pulled up directions from mapquest!  My goal is to be there about 10ish till 5ish.  WOW!!!  Looking forward to it and meeting everyone!!!

Stupid question:  What is a Grand Calibur?  I have a Big Shot.  Sounds similar to it.  Thanks.

I will be coming! 10 a.m. until I run out of gas (plan on 11 p.m.)

I will bring my Vagabond & all my dies (Spellbinders, Sizzix, QuicKutz, etc.) and embossing folders. The vagabond will handle every die out there. I have a TON of Gina K stamps, and I'll see what all I can load up to bring. I have about everything, so if there's something you'd like to play with and learn about, just ask!

If any of you don't have GKD stamps, bring paper and ink and you can stamp off images from the sets I bring. It should go without saying, but I'm a very trusting soul, and I've been stolen from big-time. I just want to make sure I get all my things back at the end of the day. I know you do, too. MARK your items with your name.

THANKS to everyone for making this possible! I'm so excited!

LOL but I just returned from Algon. Archivers and mentioned we might be meeting there, and ta dah.........we are!  Amazing.

Thanks so much for taking the leadership for the 19th.  Count me in.  I will plan on attending 10-???????  I can bring my Cuttlebug (which can use Sizzix) and various Nesties and other embossing folders. I will probably bring GK and SU stamps which I will gladly share.  Plan on making some Spring/Easter cards using Flower Soft.  Can't wait to meet everyone.

Pat - I had replied to you days ago, I have thought but apparently not. My pic is a Pug named Latte. You must google the grand Calibur. Its like the big shot, but it can take 8x11 paper. LOVE it!
Ky - that'll be me madly stamping. I have no GKD stamps (shock and horror, I know)
Too funny, Susan!

I just found out my Doc scheduled surgery on the 16th. Doesn't she respect priorities??? LOL I will do my best to attend, and if there is a fee, I will gladly pay even if I can't attend. My dear Cabana Boy (aka DH) will bring me and pick me up if the doc gives me permission by then. Don't count me out!!

Is this still a "Go" ?  Haven't heard anything since the initial rush.

My iPhone won't let me post :(. Yes, we're on!
How did it go? Any photos to share?? I'm so curious and sad that I had to miss out. ♥
We had a great time sharing ideas/techniques/products............things that we like and ones we don't.  Michelle is quite the Copics gal, even impressed the Archivers staff.  She inspired me to start shading, gave me ideas of colors to use together and how easy it is (for her anyway) to download digital prints.  I'm more a stamper but spent most of my time playing with my Flower Soft dimensional cards (wildflowers and Easter).  Several stopped by to see what we were doing and shared projects/ideas.  Michelle shared her ?Gran Calibur? nor sure of the name, and how she makes the whole card with the new larger!  We had each forgotten a few things, but didn't hesitate to share, and Archivers helped out too. Again no pressure to purchase anything.  It was just a nice relaxing time learning some new "tricks".  No pix, sorry.  Would love to do this again, and meet others.  :)  Sue
Thanks, Sue - sounds like it was a great get-together. I'll do my best to be at the next one!
