Thanks again, Diana.  Yes, I see what you are saying.  The particular cut files I was looking at in the freebies didn't have PDF files, but I see that others do.  Thanks again, you have been very helpful.

Shelley, I just print out the PDF file from the freebies, but a lot of the time I just stamp and then do a direct cut as all I want is one image from the set. For me this is the easiest. You just have to have a solid outline to direct cut. Sometimes I will fill in with a fine black pen. I am not very sophicated with the SNC, just like the direct cut with a border for most of what I do. Hope this helps!

Thank you for responding Diana.  Are you saying that you skip the "freebies" all together and just stamp the images on a sheet of paper for the master copy?  Or am I missing something?  Thanks.

Shelley, Just a tip, I find that if I want to use the freebies with my SNC, I make a master copy by just printing them, then I just copy on good paper and cut out. You can do this on white, ivory or any of the colored paper (that is why I do it this way). Very simple, then just highlight what you want to cut and done. I keep my masters in a kit box.

I noticed on the freebies page that you can no longer get svg files for some of the stamp sets I have, specifically Bounty of Blessings, Flower Builders and Greetings Labels Cut File.  I was wondering, should I ask Gina to post them again, or can I get them from someone who already has them - if that can be done?  I am very new to electronic cutters.  Also, can you convert a studio file from silhouette without having studio software?

I agree, it's more simple to just use washi or medical tape. I'm too lazy to wash mine off and let it dry anyway. I wanna get to the crafting!! :b

Judy e mathena: You cannot do the simple "direct cut" for cutting out the inside of images, you need to "scan to cut data" and that allows you to cut on the inside and outside of an image. Check out this video:

I hope this helps you out! =)

I'll try the tape, thanks so much!

I did, and didn't work, was too sticky - couldn't get the paper off! Have you just tried scrubbing it with hot soapy water. That helps for awhile. I have just gone to taping my paper down with painters tape. I just use GK paper and don't want it mess up so the tape method works best for me. Hope this helps.

When the cutting mat loses its stickiness, has anyone tried the "spraying" method of restoring the mat?  It is done with Krylon, such as seen in the link I have attached.
