Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

I love what everyone did with the sketch from last week. Thank you all for playing along with me.

The sketch for this week came from an interesting place. About a year ago I was intrigued by the design on a dress that one of the women was wearing in church. It had all of these groupings of geometric shapes. And what came to my mind. Wow, they would make some great sketches for stamping cards. LOL! So I pulled out my little notepad from my purse and drew some rough sketches. They sat untouched in my purse for a long time. I pulled them out the other day and decided to use one for my next sketch challenge. The original design from the dress consists of the 3 smaller squares and the three groups of buttons. The rest I added to make it a card design.

I made this card for my mom's birthday. She loved the card. I gave it to her before measuring the pieces I used. So I can't provide the measurements I used this week. The card I made is the standard 4.25 x 5.5 and the three square pieces are 2x2 matted on 2.25x2.25 pieces of chocolate card stock.  I colored the yarn basket with colored pencils and baby oil. I haven't done that for a while and forgot how fun it is.

With this sketch you can have fun with some of the embellishments that I know you've had stashed for quite some time now. Get them out and use them. Make a card for a special person and send it out this week to tell them you care.

Stamps: Nana's Needlework, Stitches (available Thursday night)

Paper: Pure Luxury Chocolate & White

Other: Lots of buttons and chocolate saddlestitched ribbon, Argyle CB embossing folder

I can't wait to see what you make with the sketch. Please don't forget the tag, stvsketchms5, and please stop back and share a link here so we can all stop by and check it out.  Here is a link to all of the entries for the sketch challenge this ....
