Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

I know there are hundreds of choices out there for tape runners.  I myself have had three different ATG guns and loved them....until they break.  All three of them have broken, so I went back to the smaller hand held tape runners.  I find these very convenient and easy to use, however, it seems like many brands, after a period of time, don't stick anymore.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Is there a better brand I could try?  I also love scor tape, but I'm looking for something I can just run and go on with my project and know that it will stay stuck.  Any thoughts? or recommendations?

Wow! You have broken three ATG guns? What are you doing with them, girlfriend? I've had mine for five years, and never had a problem. Mine is the original one, not the pink one. I wonder if the pink one is cheaply made? The only problem I've ever had with my ATG is that if I work with it for too long, My right hand/arm really hurt for a few days. I imagine that eventually I'll have to give it up-it's just too big.

So, clearly, I'm no help!

How the heck have you broken 3 of them?  I have had mine for about 1.5 years and it is rolling along nicely and I make ALOT of cards!  Mine IS the pink one.  I used to use the AdTech,  little ones, very inexpensive and I think the company is out of NH and stand behind their product!

Oh gosh...mine has lasted me 5 years too and still going strong!  LOL  I do keep a few smaller refillable ones from various companies.....but generally I use my ATG gun for it all!  And I make a TON of cards!  ;)

The ATG guns that have broken, has it always been at the same spot? I've had mine for around two years, and never a problem. Mine is the pink gun. I still use the AdTech adhesive for very small areas. Good luck

Well, I don't know what an ATG is, but I use a Glue Glider Pro. LOVE them, BUT the refills sometimes break about halfway through. I too would love to find something that is dependable. I want to be able just to swipe my cards and be good to go. Maybe I need an ATG. I'll have to check into it.

I have the pink ATG gun and so far it works fine. Only problem with me is it takes me awhile to load the thing correctly. I did have the tape break on me too, but I simply rethreaded it and it worked until the rest of the roll of tape was gone. I only purchased mine around Christmas but it works fine, and especially use it for my OWH cards. I also use Scor Tape but like  you, the convenience of just gilding the glue on is awesome. Takes less time especially when making multiples of cards. I don't know of anything else that is much better for stability in holding your projects together.

Well, to be fair, one of my ATG guns broke, the other two just stopped working properly.  Maybe I'm mentally handicapped, but I have a heck of a time trying to reload them.  It never seems to come out right again.  Guess I'll try the Glue Glider Pro next.

I have the Pink ATG gun, and I love it no problems so far.

When I first got my ATG I had to keep watching YouTube Videos to see how to reload the tape.  It finally became 2nd nature.  Have you tried watching any of these?  Plus you could probably contact the Company, send them an email and photos of your "dead" guns......bet they would help.  I find most Companies will stand behind their products!  Good Luck!

Does anyone use the Tombow mono adhesive that Gina uses?  How does it rate with you all?

That's one of the ones I have right now.  I like the size and shape of it, but I left a card on my desk for awhile and the glue didn't hold so well.

I believe ATG stands for adhesive transfer gun. Like you I also have the glue glider pro & have had a refill break on occasion.  I e-mailed the company once & they sent me a new refill! The only other thing  that I don't like about it is that is doesn't come in the mono dots.  I would prefer those. I have thought of changing but you know the old saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
