Make a mini album!
My favorit is http://scrappystickyinkymess.wordpress.com/2010/06/22/quite-a-large...
One fun one is http://www.scrapbook-crazy.com/accordion-tag-book-instructions.html
Maybe more work than you wanted to do, but I think the first one would be stunning and memorable

I had a similar challenge a few months ago and made a mini album instead. You can view it on my blog at: http://madeleenscraftcorner.blogspot.co.nz/p/gallery.html it's the second photo in in the gallery on the right and has a photo on the front cover (it says thank you with a number 50). My friend Neville celebrated 50 years voluntary service in the church and we wanted to make something special for him. I chose to do a mini album instead of a card because of the number of people who were going to have to 'handle' it when signing their names, and I wanted something that my friend Neville could display if he wanted to. It worked really well and although it took me ages to prepare, I am really pleased with the end result. I also know that it will last much longer and will stay nice. Instead of people signing the actual album pages, we got everyone to write on small rectangular stickers, which we stuck onto the pages. Hope this helps.
Permalink Reply by grammawamma on March 29, 2012 at 9:50am I would've said to make a card front, and mat it on a larger piece that maybe they could sign around, and then put that in an inexpensive frame? Or a bi-fold or tri-fold foam board made like a card, or maybe make a card, and add some paper coordinating with the card inside for those who like to write books? Just off my head, hope it came out good?

Permalink Reply by Robin Logue on April 2, 2012 at 8:56pm Don't know know if this would work but could you fold a piece of poster board and then decorate like a card? I don't know why that popped into my head but it may be something to consider.
Permalink Reply by grammawamma on April 2, 2012 at 11:26pm Thanks Robin! That would give LOTS of room for signatures! Still trying to decide what is the best way to go! Carol
Robin that sounds like a great idea! Last time I made a regular sized card w/the sheets inside, no on wrote more than a 4 word phrase, lol, and a signature. I am positive that whatever you brainstorm will be beautiful!

I have done this MANY times. You have to go a little larger scale on your embellishments and such but it's worked out well for us. LOTS of room for signatures and short notes and the large size is an impressive presentation.
