Hello, everyone! Melanie here, and my turn to host a challenge again, I hope you will play this week! I'm going to admit right now, I totally forgot I was hosting this week until Karen poked me a couple days ago! Summer is in full swing, so I had a bit of a panic, “what am I gonna do?” moment! Luckily, I noticed a theme emerging in BOTH the cards I’d already made for our design team kit hop today (be sure to visit our hop!!) that I knew I hadn’t done in a past challenge, so it must be a sign!
Notice the offset sun image here with the new Sentimental Summer StampTV kit…offset is AWEsome!
For this offsetting challenge, you can use dies or cut out your images, but find some way that your image that is enhanced when it is offset (twisted or shifted a little or a lot so that the original image doesn't line up) Could just be to add interest, show off something fun underneath, or create a bit or virtual motion, the way the rays now seem to radiate a bit more! It is NOT a requirement to have a colored layer underneath like I did in these samples, that just happened, but it DOES make the offsetting POP! If you don’t have a die to cut out the image, NO SWEAT! You can also stamp the image underneath, and then offset it when you pop up the layer that you’ve cut out, rather than having that negative cut out from the die, know what I mean? I think this is going to yield some really cool designs, and I can’t wait to see what you make! It can be a shape, stamped image, sentiment, your choice! Get creative!!!
Visit my blog for creation details for both of my cards! :)
I cannot WAIT to see what you all come up with! I’ll be checking throughout the week and commenting in between all our summer fun!
And the small print:
