Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

Hello StampTV friends!  Happy Monday to all!  Sylvia here with the MIUM Challenge, and no I haven't lost my marbles, LOL! It's just that this week we will be playing with marbles to make a background. Sounds like a lot of fun doesn’t it?  Check out Gina’s video for the how to: http://stamptv.ning.com/video/making-a-background-using-1

The first time I tried this technique I didn’t have re-inkers so I used food coloring. I still don’t have re-inkers but this time I used the direct inkpad method using Gina K’s Red Hot and Prickly Pear inkpads.  I’ve even used Spectrum Aqua markers spritzed with water to make a background. Use what you have and have fun with it.

For my card I used the following Gina K supplies:

Card stock: Prickly Pear and Red Hot

Stamps: Especially for You Duo, Fabulous Frame, Frame Fillers

Inkpads: Red Hot and Prickly Pear

Spectrum Noir markers: CR10, CR11, CR4 and DR7

Now it’s your turn to have fun with this challenge. Can’t wait to see what you all create!

Be sure and have your creation uploaded to our gallery, with the tag, STV16MON37 no later than September 18, 8PM CST for a chance to win a $20.00 gift certificate to Gina K. Designs store!

What a wonderful challenge! I haven't ever done this, I hope I get the time to play this week!  :)  <3  I Love your card and the background the marbles create!  Thank you for hosting and playing with your marbles!  ;)  <3

OOo this is one of my favorites!  LOVE your wonderful creation with this too!  Thanks for hosting this week Sylvia!

Sylvia, did you scribble your Aqua markers in a plastic container?  then spray a bit of water?  I watched the video.  I don't purchase re-inkers either.  I do have Versamark, black, and white, but those will not give great results.  I will give the Aqua markers a try.  I will try this later.  Thanks for the challenge.

What a fun challenge!

Fun challenge! Did this once before, I used buttons as didn't have marbles. Worked great. Will see what I come up with. I never purchase an ink pad unless I can get the re-inker with it so have a ton! Thnaks for the fun! Love your card!

Yes I did. I scribbled one color at a time, spritzing with water every time. You can use as many or as little colors you want.

Love the card Sylvia and it will be fun to try this technique as I've never done it before. Don't have marbles but I can improvise with other stuff I'm sure.

Hi Jane, did you use the link I refer to at the end of the first paragraph?

Hi, I could not find the video on how to do this. Instead I watched a Melanie M.
Video on making a faux marble background. Really cool but had nothing to do with
Actual marbles and reinkers? A different link perhaps?

I was going to ask if there was something else I could use, since I don't have any marbles.  Thanks, Diane! I look forward to meeting you next month!

I think it is. You can also check the right hand side of this page. Scroll down to where it says Techniques. You will find it "Background using marbles". Hope that works for you.

Hi Jane the link that Sylvia refers to does work as I used it myself without issue. Try it from here: http://stamptv.ning.com/video/making-a-background-using-1 You can also see the technique at SplitCoast Stampers as well although they do it slightly differently than Gina does. The end result is the same. Have fun.

Jane, it didn't work for me either - search Utube -marbles, Stamptv and it comes up.

It must be a glitch with my end. I will look for Gina's video a different way. Thank you for helping y'all!
