Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

Hello StampTV friends! Thank you for joining this week’s Mix It Up Monday! It’s me Silke here, waiving to you from my new home state of TEXAS!!!

My MIUM challenge for you this week is an easy one….”PIERCING”. I love how this technique can add so much to the overall look of your creation! I hope you pull out your piercing tools and maybe you even have some long forgotten piercing templates you might want to include!?!

Here is my idea…..

This card was created with the beautiful and timeless Set from Claire Brennan called Old Country Roses. The sentiment is from the Country Roads 2 Set by Theresa Momber.  I also used the Gina K. White & Kraft CS along with some leftover pattern paper, a doily and some Silver Pearls. The framed piercing was placed in the background to add some more interest…voila! Now it’s your turn!

Please make sure to have your creation uploaded to the gallery, with the tag - STV16MON31 – by August 7 @ 8 PM CST.

Here are the challenge rules….

Hi Silke! This is such a Gorgeous Card and a Great Challenge. What a great reminder as we forget about the easy things that pack a big punch on our cards!  :)  Thank you so much for Hosting this weeks MIUM Challenge! So often I forget to do this. <3

What a beautiful card and a fun challenge.  I almost never use piercing, so this will definitely be a challenge.

I've never done any piercing successfully so this will be a real challenge for me. It is a busy week so I may not get to making anything for a few days which means I have time to think of something while doing other things.

Hello Silke!  This card is totally stunning!  I love the colors that you chose!  I never think of piercing, and I love the way you layered the PP and Doily!!  I hope to get my lines straight when I pierce!!  That will be the biggest challenge on my card for sure!!  :)

Lovely card and great theme - will have to get out the piercing templates - tfs

Beautiful card and FUN theme! Those little details like piercing can add so much to a card. I love that you included a doily; the piercing border pairs up nicely with the 'built in piercing' in the doily.

Sooo PRETTY! FUN Challenge.....

Very pretty! I have not done piercing in quite a while, I will get out my ruler and give it another go this week. Thanks for the lovely inspiration card.

Gorgeous card, Silke! I have never done piercing so am looking forward to giving it a go. Thank you for your inspirational card. Hope your move wasn't too stressful :-)

Beautiful card and fun challenge.

I have never done piercing. But I have some pierced border dies. Do they qualify or to you have to use special other tools? If so, I might have to sit this one out.

Verna - I don't think pierced dies can be used. There are tools for piercing but you can do it without a tool.  Do you have a tool to poke out pieces of die cuts? You can use that to pierce with or perhaps you have a needle of some sort? Put some foam down or something similar and than pierce. I hope this helps you out
