I SEE SPOTS!!!
Hello from Northern Michigan! Judy Woodland here, and I'm so excited to be your host this week for the StampTV Monday Challenge. I thought it would be fun to do a technique that both Gina and Melanie Muenchinger have done in the past called "spotlighting". With this technique you stamp 2 images. One remains black and white (or any other ink color you wish to use). The other image is colored in, and then one section is cut out and placed over the black and white image.
You can see Gina's video HERE.
And Melanie's video HERE.
Here is my sample card:
I chose to use Melanie Muenchinger's Beyond Baskets Stamp Set for the tub, and her Spring Basket Stamp Set for the flowers. I stamped the black and white image on a Spellbinder's Label 9 die cut that had been sponged with Distress Ink and matted with black. I colored my second image with Copic Markers and then die cut the circle with Spellbinders Circle Dies. I also cut a slightly larger circle in black as a mat so that it made the colored image pop. The greeting is from Beyond Baskets as well, and is stamped on vellum and then heat embossed with GKD Black Embossing Powder. I used GKD Pure Luxury White and Black Onyx Card Stock for the card base.
Be sure to have your project uploaded to the gallery using the tag STV15MON12 no later than next Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 8 p.m. Central Time.
