Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

Hi Everyone! Karen here - I hope you all are up for a Big Challenge this week!

I was feeling very crafty a couple of weeks ago, and was inspired by a shower curtain, so this is what I came up with.

This is the Challenge:

Collage (From the Frenchcoller, to glue, French pronunciation: [kɔ.laːʒ]) is a technique of an art production, primarily used in the visual arts, where the artwork is made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole.

Now for the twist, It has to be a One Layer Collage!

That means Masking off images to give you the layered look!

If you are new & don't have lots of Gina K Stamps, Use the set you have and create a college. You can use a die or punch or even tear paper and mask off areas to be sponged around then you can stamp in the blank areas. What ever Collage means to you!

Here is the card I made:

This is a Large Card! 5 1/2 x 7 1/2. I knew I wanted a large surface to work on! Yours can be as big or small as you want. My one layer collage is done on water color paper. You can use what ever you want. I stamped the 3 frame images and used my water color pencils to add color to my background. I wanted it soft. I also made a mask of the frame x 3. Then I started layering images.

Here are the stamp sets I used!

Keep Calm - Lots of Washi by: Beth Silaika
Poster Board Sentiments by: Rebecca Oehlers
Follow Your Dreams - Dogwood & Butterfly by: Theresa Momber
Elegant Flourishes by: Carolyn King
Love You - Birthday Blessings - Frame & Filler - Springtime Silhouettes by:Gina K Designs
A Beautiful Life - Fabulous Frame Fillers - Stately Flowers 9 by: Melanie Muenchinger

13 sets in all.  I was feeling a bit crafty!  LOL

Ok. Have fun and Create!

I can't wait to see all the wonderful collages in the gallery!

I guess I need to look up a video on collage & masking as I have no idea what Karen is talking about!  I have been watching all of Gina's past videos and I don't see any on the collage technique.  Any suggested links?

Here are a couple of links for you:

http://stamptv.ning.com/video/crafting-with-stamped-feathers

http://stamptv.ning.com/video/torn-edges-two-ways

There are several on masking, but here is one:  http://stamptv.ning.com/video/coloring-with-your-sponges-reverse-ma...

I go to the video link at the top and search all videos looking for a name such as masking or collage and see what videos pop up.  Melanie seems to be the queen of masking with her videos; Theresa has several also.

Hope these help.

Wow, Karen, what a card!  This should be designer paper.  I decided to do some clear embossing then added a little copper embossing to set things off a little bit.  Fun challenge.  Thanks for hosting.  Here's my card.

I just want to say Thank You All for the Wonderful Comments, and Thank You to those that found the time to join me this week in this Collage Challenge! I hope ya'll had some fun and got inky!  Hugs  :)
