Hello Friends! Susie here. Welcome to this week’s Mix It Up Monday Challenge!
This is how I made my card: First I stamped some heat resistant acetate with the maple leaf image and then I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Next I die cut the leaf into the center of a single stitched square. I adhered the acetate behind this area so the leaf was centered behind the opening. I blended three colors of Distress Oxide Inks onto a scrap of white card stock and placed that behind the square. Finally, I used some fun foam behind the square to lift it up. I added my sentiment and some sequins to finish my card.

What a great card and a great challenge. Your use of the heat resistant acetate is wonderful and reminded me that I picked up a package when I was at Village Paper & Ink a few months ago. Gotta dig it out and use it.
I bet everyone in the congregation thinks the pastor is talking about them - I know I certainly would feel that way. We do have to be so careful of our words. I like the idea of using a card to lift someone's spirits. Thanks for hosting this week.
I love your card Susie, and what a wonderful challenge! Thank You for hosting this weeks MIUM Challenge! <3
WOW! What wonderful card and thoughtful challenge.
Oh do gorgeous Susie! Love it and the challenge! Thanks for hosting!
Susie, your card is fantastic, as is this wonderful challenge.
That sermon series title is great and I bet it is a really good sermon series, as well.
such a beautiful card, and such a great inspiring challenge. So glad your hosting this week.
I too like the idea of using words to uplift someone's spirits. I used to belong to Toastmasters and one of the things they taught was how to critique something without judgement or hurtful language. I've never forgotten those lessons, although in daily life I sometimes don't think before I speak and my tone of voice can be sharp. Working on this all the time, but if I write I can be softer as I have to think more.
Love your card Susie.
Awesome card, awesome challenge! Love the whole idea of it, Susie! Thank you for hosting this week!
Gorgeous card Susie! I love the thought behind the challenge! My mom always said "It does not cost any thing to be nice". I agree and try to live my life that way. Thanks for hosting for us! :)
