Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

It's an awesome day here in north Florida- the temp is supposed to be in the mid 70s today. Hope your week is off to a great start. Mine sure is (wink-wink)!

As one of Gina's February guest designers, it's my pleasure to be your Mix It Up Monday Challenge hostess this week. I've chosen a fun theme that I call HOLEY CARDSTOCK! Yep, you read it right! Create a project with at least one hole in your cardstock so your stamping shows through. The hole(s) can be any shape and can be punched, die cut or hand cut. It can be layered and adhered to the card base or you can leave the open hole cut through the card base. Let's do this! :)

I used stamps from two of the new February Release stamp sets, Lots of Washi and Signs of Spring, for my "Thanks" note card:

I chose simple black and white. I cut a fairly large round hole with a Spellbinders Classic Circles die to show all five washi strips through (stamps from Lots of Washi), and matted the piece on black cardstock. I stamped the sentiment and the large butterfly (both from the Signs of Spring stamp set) on the front, added some Stardust pen to the butterfly, some buttons and B&W baker's twine, and attached the unit to the card base. I finished the inside (white matted on black) and left it blank to use as a note card.

I used Beth Silaika's Lots of Washi

and Theresa Momber's Signs of Spring

Be sure to have your project uploaded to the Gallery by 8:00 PM CST on Sunday, March 2nd, and please use the tag STV14MON8 so we can find your project! In addition to posting your project in the Gallery, you may also post it here in the challenge thread if you'd like! ;)

A random winner will be chosen from all eligible entries to win some awesome Gina K Designs goodies!

Big hugs,

What a gorgeous and classy card Leslie!  LOVE the challenge too!  Thanks for hosting for us this week and sharing your awesome talent with us!

What a fun challenge!  Love your pretty example, too.

I absolutely LOVE this card my dear. I love the black and white, the look of the Washi Tape and the butterfly. But I mostly like the way it shows through that hole, and I cannot wait to make a card like this. Thanks for the great challenge!!!

That is gorgeous Leslie!!!  What a fun challenge too!!

Wonderful card and challenge. Perhaps later today or tomorrow I can work on a card for this challenge too. Looks like fun! I still need a ton of birthdays.

Whooohoooo! Got my holey card done. HERE is what I did.

I have very little Washi tape so it was a given that I should purchase the new set from Gina K. Designs so that I can substitute when the need arrives. So with playing with the new set I came up with an entry for the challenge to use holes. I hope you enjoy my Blue Birthday card.
