Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

Hi friends!  It's my turn again to host this week's challenge!  If you've been watching the trends in the stamping and scrapbooking industry, then you know one of the hottest trends right now is adding in a bit of black!  Everywhere you look there are bright colors being set off with just a bit of black.

So my challenge to you is to make it pop with black!  This challenge works best with brighter colors, but if you fancy some pastels then that works too!

Here is what I came up with...

I used the Stamper's Favorites set along with the Elegant Flourishes set for the background!  I used a little bit of Black Pure Luxury cardstockto add a bit more pop under my Kraft focal layer.  I also used Black embossing powder to heat emboss the butterfly before watercololring it with some bright colors!

Be sure to have your project uploaded to the Gallery by 8:00 PM CST on Sunday, May 18th.  Also, make sure to use the tag STV14MON19 so we can find your project! In addition to posting your project in the Gallery, you may also post it here in the challenge thread if you want!

As always, a random winner will be chosen from all eligible entries to win a Gina K prize!

You can see the STV14MON19 Gallery HERE!

I'm excited to see all of your colorful creations!  :-)

This looks like a fun challenge and I adore your card and that gorgeous butterfly. Maybe later today I can find time to play. Right now catching up on chores left undone by the past weekend. LOL

What a gorgeous example!

That's a great challenge! But honestly, for us here at Stamp TV that should be pretty much the order of the day, since using black is one of Gina's first rules of card making, LOL!

You card is super!  What a cute little heart body on that beautiful butterfly.

Gorgeous card sample, Laurie.  Thanks for hosting.  Not sure if I got it right and now that I look at my finished project, I have more of a pop of color with the ribbon than the black. Anyway here'smy card.

HERE is my entry for the challenge. Lots of fun and had a hard time deciding what images to use, but finally went with Melanie's Wild Flowers set.

Beautiful !

Your card is really wonderful. I love that you paired the craft with a black frame. I'm not sure if I have ever done that before! I hope I will be able to participate in your challenge this week! Thanks for hosting!

Fabulous Laurie!!!  That pop of black really does just add such an elegant touch!

I made another for this challenge to make it "pop" using black. I hope you like this entry of mine. Once again, a fun, fun challenge!

Very Pretty. I love to add black. Will try to get in on this one.  Love your card.  :)

Gorgeous Laurie!!! Great challenge too!

Gayle, you got is perfectly right!  :-)  I especially loved how you added the bit of black stamping directly onto your patterned paper!  :-)
