Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

Hi there creative stampers!!  I hope your Monday kicks off a great week and what better way than with a fun challenge to get your creative juices flowing??

I am so excited to bring you this week's Mix It Up Monday challenge - to create a striped background on your card!  It's so easy to do and creates a unique background especially when your go to background tends to be pattern paper a lot (personally, I have not been wanting to use pattern paper that much, which explains why I wanted to make this background!) All I did was choose my marker colors (I used Copics because they have different size tips) and put my cardstock square on my scor-mat's grid to get my ruler lined up perfectly.  Then, I varied the widths between marker colors and had fun!

As you can see, I did draw my inspiration from the little romper outfit I bought to give to my co-worker whose wife gave birth to their first little boy.  I knew my Wee Tees set would be perfect to mimic the little dinosaur too.  My co-worker was impressed I made the card, especially with the matching striped background!  I got a really nice thank you card from his wife the next morning, it was sweet.

Please create and upload a new project for this challenge and it can only be entered into this one challenge here on Stamp TV to be eligible for a prize. You can use it for challenges outside of Stamp TV. If you use Gina K. Designs stamps, your name will go into the drawing twice.

You have until Sunday, August 21 at 8 pm Central to upload your entry.  Please use the keywordSTVMONDB3 as the tag when uploading to the gallery.  Have fun creating your striped background!

Very cute!

I will have to give this a try, your sample is so perfect and so cute. thanks for the challenge

I have never made my own background paper in your way, I will give it a try.  I once used those plastic sheets from SU and laughed at myself trying to do those...
What an adorable gift set with matching card.  You are amazing!  Too cute for words.  I'm sure the mom was very pleased. Thanks for showing us how you came up with the pattern.

Donna,

This turned out so cute! I love that you were able to match this so well. Isn't fun to have just the right thing.

Ohhh, what a CUTE dino! I LOVE the green and yellow plaid on your card, Donna! That used to be my house colour back in school! hehe I'll see what I can come up with. So exciting!
How very clever of you, and what a great challenge. I'll sure give it a try.
Donna, what an absolutely awesome idea.  Not only can I not wait to get started but the next time I have the opportunity I am copying your idea of matching card with gift.

thanks for the compliments ladies!  I read every one-but just wanted you to know my commenting is limited during the day since I work FT.

look forward to seeing YOUR creations!!

This is the cutest baby gift and card I've ever seen.  What a great idea!  Love it!

Here is my first attempt at making a background using markers and a ruler...obviously the markers bled onto the wooden ruler and smeared...but...I like the design and I will use the card!

This is the set that I chose for free from winning a challenge a couple weeks ago!  Whimsical Wishes.
