Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

Good Morning Everyone!

I am so happy to be hosting the Mix it up Monday challenge. So I was thinking that armed forces day is May 19th and Memorial Day is May 28th, Why not host a challenge to pay tribute and just say a big "Thank You" to the men and women who serve our country and sacrifice so much for our freedom.

For my card I chose to use a simple purple heart, which symbolizes the military's purple heart metal. The stamp I used came from the GKD "Happy Hearts stamp set" and the Sentiment came from the GKD "Springtime Silhouettes stamp set"... I used glitter pens on this card as well.

So my challenge for you is to create a "Pretty Thank You card" to show our gratitude to our soldiers. You must use bright cheery colors and the rest is up to you! Have fun with it...

Your keyword will be: STV12MON16

STV12MON16

The deadline for the challenge is Sunday May 13th at 8:00 pm CT.

One week following the challenge one of the Mods will pick a winner and post in the Big News section on Stamp TV.

Please create and upload a new project for this challenge. You may not link a previous card/project. There is no combining of Stamp TV challenges allowed to eligible to win a prize. However you can combine it with challenges outside of Stamp TV. And remember you don't have to use Gina K Design  stamps, but if you do your name will go into the drawing twice!

Also I will be posting on my page, the address where you can send your cards to our Service men and women; if you'd like to do so.

Have a beautiful day Ladies! ;)

What a fun and sweet card!  I see you are a day early and ready to go!  Heehee!

Good Morning Lee! ;)

Yea I decided to get any early start on it! lol I have a 3 hour long Polygraph for the Sheriff's Office tomorrow morning bright and early, I am going to be Volunteering a few days a week there, so they have to check me out! ;) I hope I uploaded everything  correctly... lol ;)

Take care Lee and have a beautiful day!

Jody

Oh that's fun!  I never had to have that when I volunteered....just a background check.  But wow!  A 3 hour test???  Don't drink too much caffeine!  LOL  Seriously....I love this challenge and will try to play along!!

Don't know if this is still the case, but it used to be that you shouldn't use glitter or shiny things for cards to our guys and gals in the military. Just a thought!

Very pretty card!

I love your card and I hope I can make some thank you cards. Yours is beautiful by the way. This is a great challenge.

That is still the case..no glitter allowed on cards for the military. I am glad you brought that point to the forefront Nancy. Apparently that type of thing can be picked up by the enemies at night if any should be on a soldier's clothing. So please...take caution in that respect. We don't want to put our soldiers in any danger that way.

Good point! But I did check into that..... She said No glitter, but the glitter pens were okay! ;) I also made a few cards with no glitter that I will be mailing... ;)

Yes! I think a good rule of thumb would be nothing with Glitter...We do love our troops and wouldn't want to put them in any danger...;)

Thanks for playing along! ;)

Great idea Jody!  And that's interesting about the glitter - wow.  So a non-blingy card it will be. :0)
