Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

Hello StampTV friends! It’s Sheri here with this week’s Mix It Up Monday Challenge!

Today I’m challenging you to create a Sympathy Card.  This type of card is never fun to create but unfortunately is occasionally needed.

I mixed two stamp sets along with a monochromatic design and to create my card sample.  The floral element is from Melanie Muenchinger’s beautiful Fill It With Flowers set and the sentiment is from Theresa Momber’s fabulous Country Roads 2 set.  These are both wonderful stamp sets to have.

And here is a reminder about the rules:

Have your project uploaded to our gallery with the tag STV17MON5  no later than February 5, 2017 by 8 PM, CST for your chance to win a fantastically wonderful $20.00 gift certificate to the Gina K. Designs store!

(just a reminder too...no 'back tagging' which means, you can't take a card you uploaded before my challenge was up and tag it with the challenge tag.  The time and date have to be later than my time and date for this challenge being posted!)

Have a wonderful day!

Thank you Golda!  Would love it if you got a chance to play along this week!

That is a beautiful sympathy card.  These are so difficult to create and, unfortunately, needed too frequently.  Glad for this challenge, as I have used mine and need to have a couple on hand.

Totally not weird Darlene!  We all have certain cards that we enjoy creating and some of us are better at having cards on hand to send out.  I just know that these are the ones I put off making the most. <3

Okay I must be weird because  I love making sympathy cards. They are usually so pretty. Maybe because I just make them with no particular purpose in mind. I always have a card when I do need one.

Hi Susan, I just double checked with the Mods and we will be doing a challenge for 2017.  Keep a look out as it will be posted in the next few weeks or so.  Thanks!

Are you doing the Yearly challenge again this year? 2017 When I click the link about that challenge it was for 2016. So if you are doing the yearly one are you starting from the first monday in Jan. ?  Thanks

Thanks Melanie!  Can't wait to see what you create!

This is beautiful!  I will make a card in the next few days.

So I have answered my own question Sorry Im just always late to the party.

Finding the right kind of sympathy card is always a challenge and making my own for someone is a much better alternative. I usually put my own words into a card like this - I know what grief is like and the right words can mean a lot.

This would make a great anniversary card too.

Great card Sheri.  I love the simple cards for this topic, but I still have a difficult time knowing what images to use as the focal point.  Thanks for this challenge as I too need to replenish my sympathy cards.

I completely agree with you Johanna!  Hope you will be able to join us!

Great idea Darlene!  Love being able to take a card and change the occasion or colors.  This really helps when you need a card quickly...at least for me.
