Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

Good morning StampTV Members!

We would like to wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year! We are so thankful for all of you and your participation here at StampTV!

As we approach the New Year, I would like to remind all members that we are a community of love and support of all paper crafters and of all skill levels. We ask that you keep your comments positive and uplifting. If you do not like something, please scroll on by. There is no need to make a negative comment on someone's work when they are trying to learn. That doesn't help. We want everyone to feel free to try new fun things without the fear of being judged. This is the exact reason why winners for challenges are chosen randomly. The only requirement is following the challenge rules.

We also want to remind members that moderators will keep track of dates and rules regarding challenges however, if a member wants to try a challenge after the prize date has ended or varies from the challenge rules, the moderators already know who is eligible for a prize and who is not so there is no need for other members to act as "challenge police."  Again, if you don't like something, scroll on by.

We want to thank each and every one of you who show support to our community and it's members and here is to a successful and creative 2017!

Hugs,

Gina K.

Happy New Year to all the Stamp TV Family!  I found everyone here to be so supportive and creative.  Looking forward to another year of Happy Times at STV. Happy Stamping in 2017!

This made me laugh because every time that I've won a challenge, it's been with a card I didn't like!

Like someone else posted, I too have a very busy schedule and don't comment very much. I'd like to say that I really appreciate all the positive feedback that my cards receive, and I wish that I could return the compliments, but I barely have enough time to make the card and get it loaded on the site.

Happy New Year to everyone here, and may we all reach our crafty goals in 2017!

I never feel judged when I download my designs.  There are some challenges I was glad I didn't win because I would have been embarrassed to have my card featured.  While I am not always happy with my cards, I have never received negative comments.  I am so sorry this has happened to anyone. That is unacceptable!  I try to go by Thumper's rule 'If you can't say nuthin' nice, don't say nuthin' at all"  Gina, thank you so much for offering this wonderful website where we can be friends with amazing, talented people we have never met and share our love of cardmaking.  I don't think there has been a day in the last 16 months that I have not been on this site. I have learned so much and "met" so many terrific people.  It was such a joy to meet so many of you in person this fall.  That was a time I will always treasure.   Happy New Year, Everybody!!!!

Thanks for the reminder to be uplifting and positive always so that we don't discourage anyone from participating in this wonderful hobby. I am sorry this has happened to someone and hopefully, it won't happen again. And, a most wonderful New Year to you Gina and Tom and family and all the members at Stamp TV. I have been missing in action for a few weeks but that was due to family activities and hopefully, I will be able to get back in the swing of things again soon. Still have some catching up to do from the holidays and then should be back to card making again.

Happy New Year to you too, Gina! And to Tom and the girls and your beautiful mum!  And to all your wonderful staff! And to all the members here!  Looking forward to a wonderful 2017 with all my Stamp TV friends. I love this site!!

Well, I would not think this could be an issue here but am so glad you always address potential negative or divisive activities early in the process. I love your clean, happy, supportive & encouraging site. And am very thankful for you and your mods' hard work. I appreciate all of you ♥ !!!!! Now if I can only remember to click here on the Amazon link before I check out on Amazon heheheheee. I will keep on trying!

Happy New Year to all! I love this site and hang out here a lot. From reading the various forums and chat threads, I realize there are some who are struggling with serious health issues and getting a card made and posted is sometimes what keeps them going. I know I get a lift when people leave comments on what I’ve posted and I try to pay it back and pay it forward. I’ve got some sets that haven’t met my ink pads yet and my stash is pretty well depleted, so I’m hoping this new year will give me a chance to introduce them. Gina thanks to you and your design team, as well as the members of Stamp TV for all the wonderful inspiration. I can’t wait to see what fun things are in store for the New Year.

Happy New Year to you Gina, your family and all the friends I have made here on Stamp TV.
Gina, how disheartening that you even had to address this issue. Every comment I have ever received personally has been kind, encouraging and most uplifting. To those who have felt disheartened because of a comment, please do not be discouraged. Please continue to regularly join us in within this community of paper-crafters.Just as iron sharpens iron, encouragement encourages learning, learning new techniques opens up new avenues of imagination and being kind to others is just as uplifting to the giver as the receiver.
You just never know......The kindness you show to another in this forum might be the only heartwarming experience that person has received in days.
How powerful.
Let "kindness" be our companion in 2017.
Marianne

I too totally agree with this and the comments below. I used to be a member of Toastmasters and one of the things I learned was how to critique something without being judgemental. The goal was to be constructive so that all would learn not just the person giving the speech. Everyone has to start somewhere and sometimes our beginnings are not very accomplished, mine certainly weren't, but I persevered and I improved just as everyone else has and does. One of the things I like about StampTV and the on line community is that most everyone strives to be kind and if someone isn't then the comment is pulled before it can do damage. It costs nothing to be kind and supportive and very often is the one thing that a new stamper/crafter needs to keep them going. I thank everyone I've met through this site for helping me to improve and taking time to answer a question or share a technique. Without all of you there would be no point in my making cards. Happy New Year to all.

Thank you Gina and Happy New Year to you and your family and all your staff and DT/Illustrators.  I wish you all a prosperous and  healthy year.  I'd like to extend this wish and prayer to all the members here as well.  The short time I have participated here has been a wonderful experience.  Thank you and may the Lord bless each one of you.

I haven't received any negative comments either.  When I first started stamping here, I was embraced by several members who had been here much longer than me.  They were very helpful in teaching me technique I had never tried before.  I try to pay it forward.  Negative comments don't help anyone.  I'm very grateful to be a part of this kind crafting community!
