May '09 Monthly 3D Challenge!!

I hope to get more players in this month's 3D Challenge!

Lately, I've been trying to read more (actually have 3 books started right now) and every time I pick one up, I realize I don't have a bookmark for one or the other! I have been blessed to have a few bookmarks gifted to me my Carolina lately though so I do have more now! But, I was thinking how easy it is to make a bookmark, you can make it any size, shape, tie ribbon or hemp from it, whatever your heart desires. You can keep it yourself if you read or you can gift it to someone who also reads.

Last week's release inspired me to make this lighthouse bookmark for a dear friend who loves lighthouses and I had the idea to laminate it to protect it and last longer. I just gave it to her yesterday and she was head over heels over it (she is an avid fast reader!). I also made this other one (my first soldered charm) for me!

So, I made this other one for this month's challenge and was inspired to make it double-sided because the back of my patterned paper inspired me to do so! I fashioned the ribbon on it to be double-sided as well.

You will have until May 31st at 11:59 p.m. CST to upload your bookmark in order to be eligible to win a Gina K Designs stamp set valued at $24.95 or less. Please use TAG 3DMAY09 so we can quickly find your creation. As always, you don't have to use Gina K stamps but if you do - you get your name entered TWICE in the drawing! Have fun stamping!!

I have to make some of these! I love giving bookmarks as gifts (inside the card). Anyway, what is a double sided ribbon? I like the idea of that, since I do have double sided paper. TIA

most ribbon is double-sided *wink* basically the way I presented it made it right side on both sides, make sense? I pulled the length of the ribbon through the hole punch and tied a corduroy ribbon with cotton thread on the top bookmark. on the back, I covered up the cotton thread by placing a bow directly on top. hope that helps!!

thanks, Cat! yes, I did - I got some laminating sheets, so easy to use at Wal-Mart, I believe (also in office supply stores)

I love to read too! Infact, I made 3 new bookmarks just last night for a challenge. Ofcourse I'll make new ones for this challenge. Hopr I can make many! I love to use them myself and to send them to others as gifts. Thanks for doing this challenge Donna!
