Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

TACKLE A TECHNIQUE!

It’s time for you to show everyone your favorite card making technique based on a video presented by Gina K. on StampTV!

Here’s how to play along:

  1. Go to the StampTV Video section and choose your favorite technique tutorial video.
  2. Make a NEW card using this technique.
  3. Upload the card using the tag STV12FRI14.
  4. Copy and paste the link to the video in your entry.

It’s easy, fun and shows that we all have a new and great technique to learn to stretch and develop our ability in making amazing cards for family and friends!

My sample for this challenge:

Wainscot Background technique

Video link:  http://stamptv.ning.com/video/wainscot-background

I chose Gina’s latest video on the Wainscot Background technique.  It added a real country feel to this card.  The materials I used for my card are:

  • Gina K. Designs Pure Luxury Jelly Bean Green, Fresh Asparagus, Vibrant Violet and 80 lb. Layering Weight card stock.
  • Spellbinder Nestabilities Lacey Ovals and Classic Ovals Small dies.
  • The flowers and sentiment are from the “One In a Million” Gina K. Designs stamp set.
  • Momento Tuxedo Black, Pear Tart and Lilac Posies inks.
  • Purple gem stones and satin ribbon.
  • Sakura Stardust Clear pen.
  • Copic BV08, BV11, YG07 and YG09 to color the image.

Rules for the Challenge:

  • Please create and upload a new project for this challenge. You may not link a previous card/project.
  • There is no combining of Stamp TV challenges allowed to be eligible to win a prize.  However, you can combine it with challenges outside of Stamp TV.
  • And remember you don't have to use Gina K. Designs stamps, but if you do your name will go into the drawing twice!

Great challenge!  I love trying different techniques and Gina has a lot I want to try.

Fun!  I really like your card, too.

I like such challenges! But it seems to me that the tag was used before, sometime in February, because the gallery has cards that were added in February.

I saw that, too.

What a super prettiful card, Sean - I love how you did this and esp the coloring of those flowers, the sponging, the wainscoting! Great challenge idea.... time to put on my thinking cap :D

Please tell me how to add the link to the challenge card.  I have tried doing it but it doesn't seem to work.

Hope someone can help.

Great challenge.

Fun challenge, Sean! I forget to go back and view the older videos, so this is a great inspiration to do it. Your card is beautiful!

After you click on the actual page of the link you want to link up, just copy the URL Address by highlighting it till it turns blue and then go to edit copy... edit paste to your cards description page.  It will then turn to a link all by itself.  Hope this helps...it's hard to put into words!

Beautiful card!  So many techniques to choose from; great challenge!

I did manage to get a card created for this challenge and the technique I used on this card was from the Doubling Your Ink Pads video. I made a scene entitled Walking Along the River.
