Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

Wow with all the weird weather occurrences here in the East Coast of the US I think I should call this "Freaky Friday Challenge" ! First the earthquake and now Hurricane Irene is bearing down on us this weekend---so for all my East Coast friends stay safe, batten down the hatches and take care. My family and I are used to Hurricanes but you never know so you gotta be prepared.

With that being said let's do a fun "Free For All Friday" and make it a BIT SKETCHY and to battle the weather elements I'm gonna give it a TWIST!

So you need to follow the SKETCH BELOW *AND* USE RAINBOW COLORS (colors of the rainbow) on your projects!!

You can use ANY colors of the rainbow, just use more than 3 :)  So any versions of red, green, yellow, blue, orange etc!

Have fun and hope you all are seeing some beautiful weather in your area this weekend!

Don't rainbow colors just bring a smile to your face? I used the fabulous StampTV set by Gina K called "Vintage Chic StampTV Set". This set is packed with so many great images and sentiments and this one that says "Why are you trying to fit in, when you were born to STAND OUT" resonates with me a lot and I say it to my kids all the time! Don't be afraid to be who you are, if you are happy with yourself than that's what is most important! I stamped the sentiment in rainbow colors using different inkpads--just a fun look to match the papers! Embossing the aqua cardstock helps it stand out against the other patterns and a Bow Easy bow and rhinestones finish it all off nicely.

Hard to see in this photo but the kite was double-stamped and then one was cut out and put on with dimensionals for more pop! I stamped the kite the same way I did the sentiment and then added a thick coat of Stickles to make it sparkle! I used my Inkssentials Blending tool to create a cloudy/blue sky effect around the kite. Just a fun card that hopefully brings a smile to your face!!

Wow everyone--I just hopped over to the gallery and your creations are so beautiful and CHEERY!  I will be by later this evening to leave you all some love---we lost power on/off last night due to the hurricane so I couldn't get on the computer. And today is school shopping today since tomorrow is 1st day of school (yay lol)!
I had fun with this challenge.  Thanks Suzanne!  HERE is my card.

Hi Guys,

I just uploaded my card and it's sitting in my gallery but it's not in the challenge gallery?? I triple-checked the tag and it is correct.

Found the problem and fixed it! Up in the right gallery now!

Your card is just stunning!

I literally used the rainbow colors.  I went really CAS with the sketch -- hope that's okay!  Here is mine.

I don't know if this card qualifies because the image doesn't look twisted but it is not how I usually use it...I used ROY as my rainbow colors as I seldom use orange.

I don't know how others came up with the size of their strips of cardstock but I figured out the measurements so that hopefully it would not look off-balance!

I made a second card since I wasn't sure the first one would qualify.  Same idea, figured out measurements for the strips of cardstock.  Used YGB for colors this time.

Couldn't decide on a masculine stamp of GKD that was small so I twisted the sentiment instead of the image.  I don't like this sentiment (sorry, but I have issues with incorrectly spelled words) but I had already stamped it before I realized the spelling.

Hi Suzanne,

I tried twice with this sketch: Card 1 and Card 2.  Thanks for pushing me to try another tilted sketch (I rarely do them, LOL!)

And thank you all for taking the time to look at my cards.

Loved this challenge because i couldn't wait to start playing with my brayer. :)

Here is my  Classy card

What a darling card you've created for this challenge Suzanne and love the "sketchy" layout.
