Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

Hi, Joyce here, and I'm honored to be your hostess of this week's StampTV Challenge! A big thanks to Karen Hightower for asking me!

My theme for this week's challenge is "First Date" - use something in your stash for the FIRST time! Preferably something you've said or thought, "I need to use that!" So dig out that stash and join us for a chance to win a grab bag full of Gina K Designs goodies!

Have you ever watched a video and saw a cool technique and you just had to buy the supply...then forget why you bought it? I sure have! I have a set of Portfolio Oil Pastels that I haven't used for at least 6 months. I don't recall what I wanted to do with them but this week I found a cool technique to try. I have step by step images on my blog. But basically I used yellow, green and orange on white cardstock. I then covered it all with red. I placed a stencil over it and removed the red with a wipey. It is also the first time I used the stencil.

Here is my card

Here is my first card using a stamp image of GKD from 2006.

Here is my second card using a stamp image from Spring Mix which I've never used before http://stamptv.ning.com/photo/gkd-spring-mix-stv15mon20?context=user

Love the Spring Mix stamp set but seldom use words from the set.

Am enjoying having DP from GKD that matches all the cardstock I recently purchased!

Cool Challenge Joyce!  Never heard of this technique!  Super cards!  I don't think I have any stamping supplies I have never used before....SAID NO CRAFTER EVER!  HEY..that would make a cool T-shirt.

HERE is my entry. I love the title of your challenge and the beautiful card you created. I have so many things that need to be used so this was very easy to do for me. The most difficult was trying to decide what so I went with the last thing I received and used the new kit I got from Stamp TV.

When I first read it, it was like...what???? LOL Sometimes I feel like a collector instead of a crafter:-)

Oh this will be fun cause I have sooo much I need to use. I try to be good and tell myself I will not buy anymore and then Gina comes out with another great kit and there you have it!

Joyce, I absolutely love your beautiful card and I love the colors you achieved.

Beautiful Card!!! It reminds me of a beautiful sunrise!

Beautiful card Joyce, and I love your challenge, after I re-read it that is. I thought I had to make something allusive to a "first date", LOL! Gotta put my thinking cap on for this one, I bought some watercolor paints I've been itching to play with.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments...now did out those yet to be loved supplies:-) and have fun!

Great challenge Joyce, I know I have stamps that have yet to see ink.

Love your card!
