Although I love my Prismacolor pencils, I have to say that I love Koh-i-noor the best! They are the smoothest, easiest colored pencils to blend with OMS! I wish they had more colors. I bought Koh-i-noors and have filled in the missing colors with Prismacolors but I sure love having all those creamy basic colors in Koh-i-noor.

What kind do you like? :)

Well, I love the Koh-i-noor too, they blend sooo well, and I'm the same way, 24 colors is just NOT enough, lol! I have the prisma pencils, but just a small set and then I am filling in colors I want as I go. It never fails that in buying a big ole set like Prisma carries, I get colors I dont use, so I'd rather pick ones that I KNOW I will use instead.
I have not tried the Koh-i-noor pencils. That is next on my list. I love my prismacolors. Love the colors and we can not have enough. If anyone has any tutorials I would love to see them.
My son got some Koh-i-noor and I might have to borrow them.

I got a 120 ct. prismacolor set and love it .
I will get the 12 new colors and the portrait as well when I have some money saved up.
I love my prismacolor pencils, but that's only because my Koh-i-noor pencils haven't arrived yet! Where is that silly mailman?????
I'm really torn.........I started out with my Prisma pencils and I absolutely DO love them!! Buttttttttttttttttttt.............Koh-i-noors are soooo very smooth and don't break!!! I just wish they came in more colors!!!!! LOL
I just recently purchased the Koh-i-noor pencils and they are fantastic!! What a difference from my Crayolas (however, I love having them on hand for those extra needed colors!)
I love the Koh-i-noor pencils the best and agree that the 24 colors is not enough! I do have quite a few prisma to fill colors but have found that not all the prisma colors blend as well or as smooth as the Koh-i-noors.
I love my prismacolor pencils, I own 60 of them, took me a year to accumulate the colors I wanted, yes I needed 60 :). I have never tried the Koh-i-noor pencils, I may get a set, "like I need more" You never know Koh-i-noor may be listening and make more colors.
not true - I pushed way too hard on my yellow and it broke.

I have about 75 prismacolor pencils and the Koh-i-Noor (and also wish there were more colors in those) I also like to highlight with colored pencils over my copic markers & on top of my white craft pad for Black Magic & Kraft Magic (click to see the photos)

I had purchased a large set of Prismacolor pencils before reading your blog and learning about Koh-i-noors. I decided to give them a try and I love to use the Koh-i-noors first for the basic colors. I too wish they had more colors. I then use the Prismacolor pencils to blend in additional color if I need it. I have not had a Koh-i-noor pencil break yet, but have had many of the others break. What I like about Koh-i-noors is that you don't have to sharpen them as often. Another thing I like about using Koh-i-noors is that you can easily use the side of the point to quickly, and smoothly color large areas for a light coverage without breaking the point. Koh-i-noors definitely blend out much better than Prismacolors.
I havn't tried Koh-i-noor pencils yet. I have many Prismacolor pencils - matched to colors I need, even watercolor ones. And I use Gamsol for blending my pencils.
