Color Challenge - STVCOLORJANICE9 - November 1, 2010

Happy November everyone!  Well, done with my muted colors challenge last week--I saw so many elegant designs!  

This will be my last week of color challenge hostessing and I just want to say "THANKS SO MUCH" for all of your support.  Many of y'all played week after week, even if the color combo was "really" challenging!  You ladies are the best!  I look forward to playing right alongside you in future challenges!  :)

Now, for this week I was inspired by the feeling of "fall harvests and holidays to come" in the air!  I was in a festive mood when I came up with my color challenge so, without further ado, I challenge you to create a card or project using: WINE, GOLD and IVORY (you may use an extra neutral if you'd like such as kraft).

So, here is what I came up with when I gave "fall harvests and holidays to come" some thought:

I started off with Gina K's "Wine with Everything" PL CS for my base, then heat embossed the leaf image from "Signs of Autumn" in gold.  I then added the"Ivory" layer creating a diamond pattern on it then inked over it in Memento "Desert Sand". I used Gina's technique found here to create the diamond pattern.  The topmost layer is "Kraft" in which I stamped the mug image on, then colored in with Copics and highlighted with gold embossing powder.  I embossed the sentiment ( from "Autumn Beauty") in gold then hand stitched the border.  

Please upload your creation to the STV gallery, using the tag STVCOLORJANICE9. You do not need to use Gina K Designs stamps to participate, although we'd love it if you did!  In fact, if you use

Gina K Stamps in your entry, your name will be added to the prize drawing TWICE! Please be sure to create a new project for the challenge versus linking up something you've created before.

Lovely card, Janice!! Somehow, I'm not really good with colour combo challenges, perhaps because I keep buying the same old few colours. Yupe, boring me! But, I shall try to make something this week. Your challenges have been so fun even though I may not always be able to participate. Thank you!!

Hi, Cheryl! I used the new Tim Holtz ruler to create a "template" by piercing with my piercing tool, then I hand stitched it. (his ruler has little holes every 1/8" I believe, throughout the length of it). I am not sure if Gina has a video on hand stitching but I'll go looking and see! :)
