Color Challenge - STVCOLORJANICE7 - October 18, 2010

Hello again, ladies!  Thanks so much to all of you who played along this past week!  I love that many of you are playing TWICE!  So fun for you, (increases your chances of a win) and fun for all of us who get to be inspired all the more! :)

 You know, I thought I might have trouble coming up with lots of different color combinations but there is just SO MUCH inspiration all around, that it never takes me long to come up with one! This past week I attended a crop night at our LSS and as I was perusing their newest section, I came across this amazing color combination in the form of PAPER TAPE!  7 Gypsies has this great line of Paper Tape and the set that really caught my eye was this one:

I know.  You wouldn't have EVER thought to put RED, BLACK and CHARTREUSE together, would you?  ;)  But, 7 Gypsies DID and I am loving it!  Doesn't it have such a fun "trendy" feel to it?  :)

Don't freak out, let me give you an example of how it can be done:

See, it CAN be done!  ;)  I started off with a red base layered with Gina K Designs Pure Luxury card stock in "Black Oynx".  On top of that, I adhered a layer of Dear Lizzy DP and stamped and embossed the sentiment from Nina Brackett's "Fanciful Tags" stamp set (I have used that set SO OFTEN!).  I used the paper tape to make the pleated sections on the bottom--isn't it so fun?!  Lastly, I added the ribbon, bow, and that super cute brad (The Girls' Paperie).

Alright, so your challenge is to make a card or project using those colors: RED, BLACK, AND CHARTREUSE.  For those of you who aren't exactly sure what that color is, it is basically a yellowish-green.  Don't worry, I'l be flexible, as long as you have a close shade of green, you'll be alright!!  ;)

Please upload your creation to the STV gallery, using the tag STVCOLORJANICE7. You do not need to use Gina K Designs stamps to participate, although we'd love it if you did!  In fact, if you use Gina K Stamps in your entry, your name will be added to the prize drawing TWICE! Please be sure to create a new project for the challenge versus linking up something you've created before.

 

In order to be included in the random drawing for a free GKD stamp set, please create a new card (or project) for each challenge that you participate in. Using one card for multiple challenges is not permitted.  Also, please read the challenge specifications carefully as only those that follow the challenge closely will be put into the drawing for the prize. LOL! It IS! When I researched it, I found out it is a color based off of a French wine! LOL! ;)
