Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

Hello, everyone!  I really enjoyed looking at all the submissions to last week's cool tone color challenge--such beautiful and creative cards and projects!  This week's is going to be just as fun!

For a few years now I've kept an inspiration journal, periodically cutting out pictures from magazines that inspire me in some way and placing them in it.  I was looking through it the other day and came across this picture that I had cut out of a Real Simple magazine and fell in LOVE with from the moment I saw it:

I think I was struck by the depth, richness and beauty of these uncommonly paired together colors.  Aren't you just in love with it?!  ;)  Well, here is your challenge:  Make a card or project using at least THREE  of the colors you see in the picture (Brown, Navy Blue, Orange, Ivory, and Gray) .  Now, notice I am not making you use every color, or  specifically the-elephant-in-the-room-color "orange". LOL! ;)  With that said, I would love to see some Chocolate Brown, In the Navy and Pumpkin Spice combinations!

Here is my card to help you see how these colors can come together nicely.  I got the orange in there, too!  : P

I started off with a grey base then layered with Ivory, In the Navy and Chocolate brown.  That fun vintage-y tape between the ivory and navy blue is Tim Holtz's Nostalgia themed Tissue Tape.  I used Nina Brackett's "Grand Damask" set to create the pattern on brown. I stamped it several times with Versamark and then added ivory flocking on top to give it that "velvety" feel to it.  I didn't have any orange embossing powder so I heat embossed the sentiment from Nina's "Fanciful Tags" in white and then went over it with Copic marker YR18 (that'll teach me for passing up getting orange embossing powder thinking I'd never use it!)

Please upload your creation to the STV gallery, using the tag STVCOLORJANICE5. You do not need to use Gina K Designs stamps to participate, although we'd love it if you did!  In fact, if you use Gina K Stamps in your entry, your name will be added to the prize drawing TWICE! Please be sure to create a new project for the challenge versus linking up something you've created before.

In order to be included in the random drawing for a free GKD stamp set, please create a new card (or project) for each challenge that you participate in. Using one card for multiple challenges is not permitted.  Also, please read the challenge specifications carefully as only those that follow the challenge closely will be put into the drawing for the prize. Thanks!

You have until next Sunday, October 10th, at 8pm CST, to upload your sample. One winner will be drawn at random to win a Gina K stamp set valued at $24.95 or less!

Can't wait to see all your cool-toned creations this week!  Good luck!

Beautiful!
Oooh lovely card. Any way you can add that green (bedskirt) in the mix? :)
Absolutely, Donna! I didn't mention it because I just wasn't sure what shade of green that was!!! ;) There's actually a bit of green in the stems of the flowers if you can see it.

These colors are really pretty Janice - and I think I see gold in there too. I wish I had some of that fancy velvet paper to use for this challenge, LOL! Hope you had a happy WCMD! :)
Yeah, the bedskirt is a goldish green and I think I see a gold frame. :)

Pretty!
Janice, that room is gorgeous and your card is fabulous! I can't wait to go home and play this color challenge tonight. And using a Copic marker over an embossed image is genius. I would have never thought to do that. Now I have 96 different embossing colors thanks to your tip. :o)
Beautiful Room! I love the green throw blanket..and was wishing I had something exactly that shade of green to throw on my cards..but didnt. Would you call it like a seafoam green? Hmmm... Here are two cards I did for this challenge..
