Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

Hello All,

I am thinking about making sets of occasion cards to be used for 2015 as Christmas presents for family and friends.  Have any of you done this?  Were they well received?  Any tips on making them?

Thank you for any advice you'd like to give!

Andrea

Thank you, Beth!  I will check out Gina's videos.  :)

I have not, mbut I can't wait to see what you make!

:)  Thanks Joyce!

I have given them as gifts and everyone loves them… Put that great talent to use, your friends and family will love them, because they will be awesome, and because they were made with your very own hands, time & love. <3

Andrea,

I gave my mom several cards for Mother's Day (2 birthday, 2 get well, 2 thank you, 2 sympathy) in one of the decorative boxes from JoAnn's.  The box looked like a book and the A2 cards fit perfect.  She loved them.  So much that she had me make 2 more sets for her friends birthday.  I was quite taken aback by the response.  It is a great gift.

Karen, I can't imagine anyone not absolutely loving your cards!  They are always gorgeous.

Hi Debbie,

That's a great idea to put the cards in one of the decorative books!  I have a small one that I bought because it was too cute to pass up.

Thanks for the help!

Debbie, do you have pictures of what you gave your mom? I would love to see what you came up with, even if it's not Gina K.

Sorry I don't have any pictures.  I didn't start taking pictures until after that.  They were mostly Gina K. designs from Shabby Spring stamp kit that I do remember.

I have been doing this for years. I make 6 cards per person and when they see me coming they are so happy to get them.  I'm now in the position that I'm making cards for between 20 and 25 people and it's such fun to hear from them that they have had the perfect card for a particular person or occasion.  There are several ways to package them as gifts so my best suggestion is to look for some decorative glassine bags.  Good luck and have fun. P.S. Remember that most people will want to mail the cards so keep them rather flat.

Thanks Kathy!  I've never heard of glassine bags, so I looked them up.  I think that would add a nice, professional-looking touch.

Good luck, Andrea...I'm actually planning to do the same. I'm thinking about creating a package of 10-each handmade notecards presented in GKD's clear boxes - although Debbie's idea to use JoAnn's decorative boxes is a great one - and giving them to co-workers, my son's girlfriend, and a few others. I just started cardmaking this year and am amazed at how much everyone loves a handmade card! So I can only imagine that a set of notecards will be very well received, just as everybody here has experienced. I'm sure your cards will be beautiful!
