Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

This is the place to ask us anything you want. (Well, almost anything!) Need to know where to find storage for your stamps? Having trouble with a video? Need to find out what size dies nest together? Here is the place to ask!

Members of our moderation team, design team and I will check this thread often and help you with your important stamping questions. And your question may help others too!

Every Monday, we will lock the previous week's thread and start a new thread with the current week's date. You will still be able to read the questions and answers posted in past week's threads, however, by starting a new thread each week, you won't have to scroll back 50 pages to find answers to your questions.

Please ask your questions here in this thread and not by starting new threads as we can't keep track of all of those and have to delete those.

So go ahead. Ask us. We're ready to help! :)

Can someone tell me when the Sun-Kissed Autumn Stamp TV Kit was released?

Nancy, it was released at the July Release party presentation, July 31st, 2012. You can see the video on You Tube here.

I hope it's okay to pipe in here, teams; I just happened to have watched that video and new what Nancy was asking.

Hi Gabi!  We love it when our members help each other out with answers since sometimes we get busy or miss a question.

I have a question about the Kraft card stock. I just opened the last order I got and it was way lighter than in the past. Is it going to stay that light? I REALLY loved the heavier type.

thank you for your response

Thanks Gabi. I was trying to find out the color of a particular card stock included in the kit
And the link to you Tube helped so much.

I am not sure if it is just me or not.  I am having trouble when I h ave a solid stamp foro the ink to stick to the stamp giving solid coverage.  I keep getting a mottled look and I want a solid even coverage.  A good example was the  City of David set.

I used an eraser on one of them and it helped some.  I use Memento ink pads and they are fairly new so I don't know what I am doing wrong.  Any suggestions  would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance! Judi

Hi Judy,

I find that the clear stamps work best if you stamp them on a foam mat.  I buy them at Michaels, they are super cheap, I think I paid $1.00.  I also have the fiskars stamp press, I absolutely love this as you can really push and get even pressure every where, I get a perfect image every time.  In my opinion this is an absolute must have for every stamper!  Hope this helps

I just bought some Ranger Jet Black Archival ink & WOW does that black ink really cover! Using a MS stamp press, I got a very solid image from a clear stamp. This would look great using City of David set. Hope that helps you!

I havent ordered the kraft in awhile now, so not sure what you mean.   Ill see if anybody else knows anything about it.  I know one lady thought she was ordering a certain weight and color of cardstock, and it turned out she had ordered wrong.  The only other color we have close to the kraft color is Sandy Beach...might you have ordered that by accident?  Anyways, I will let you know when I hear anything.

I too think its the ink most of the time.  Different inks do cover better than others for some reason.  Another thing I have done, instead of taking the stamp and stamping onto the piece of cardstock, I will lay the stamp down, on the acrylic block and bring the cardstock to the stamp, lay it over the top of it and slightly rub my finger across it.  Hope these suggestions help you!
