Card making, rubber stamping techniques and project videos for papercrafters

This is the place to ask us anything you want. (Well, almost anything!) Need to know where to find storage for your stamps? Having trouble with a video? Need to find out what size dies nest together? Here is the place to ask!

Members of our moderation team, design team and I will check this thread often and help you with your important stamping questions. And your question may help others too!

Every Monday, we will lock the previous week's thread and start a new thread with the current week's date. You will still be able to read the questions and answers posted in past week's threads, however, by starting a new thread each week, you won't have to scroll back 50 pages to find answers to your questions.

Please ask your questions here in this thread and not by starting new threads as we can't keep track of all of those and have to delete those.

So go ahead. Ask us. We're ready to help! :)

I don't have any details yet...but I do know Gina is working hard at hoping to find some solutions to this.  We'll keep you all posted!

Okay--I won't give up hope just yet, then! I wanted to do a large order, hopefully soon, as I need more paper, and I really want to try those new inks.... Then there's the stamp sets already in my cart, waiting patiently, and a new release coming sometime soon... You get my drift ;)

Hey!  I have tons of questions about odd and end things, but for now, I just want to know how to store stamps.  My collection is growing and I have everything from clear and wooden stamps to foam stamps.  I started with the tupperware stacked drawers, but didn't know if you had any other suggestions for me.  I just had digging through all of my stamps.  I forget what I have most of the time.

                Thanks,

                  Amy

I have also just noticed how much the shipping costs have increased. I have just had some money for my birthday and I was going to order some more stamps but with the customs charges in the UK that I would have to pay, I can't justify spending $76 for shipping for an order of around $80. I will just have to make the most of the stamps I already have :(

Oh Kathryn i just read your comment...don't tell me this....I've been in the USA for four months and TOTALLY been taking advantage of the free shipping. I felt now I'm back in Canada I can suck up 5.95 for shipping but not these huge rates you ladies are speaking about. I can't live without Gina's paper til I go back to the US.
On a side note, I sold Close To My Heart and bought a lot of Stampin Up paper and when I got home and compared the weight and strength of colour of Gina's and these other companies, I have to conclude that Gina K papers are so superior it's not even a competition! Pleeeeease don't kill us on shipping.
Thanks.

A while back I took a class on making tiles using travertine coasters.  I then started making them to sell.  I use only stazon ink because it's waterfast.  I have not been sealing them with anything nor have I baked them.  I wanted to keep them natural and absorbant.  However, one of my customers has reported that the coasters she gave her mother are running.  It was a set of 8 coasters.

Do you have any ideas on what caused this?  Is it because I did not seal or bake them?

I did watch the video here on making the coasters and the lady said they are water fast with no baking or fixative.

Blessings,

Cindy

I store mine on the sheets that come with Gina K stamps...that fit into a 3 ring binder that Gina also sells.  I dont use the binders but do put them in this chest of drawers by Illustrators names...just stack them on top of each other.  Not very creative, but it works for me, lol!

I found that even with the stayz on ink, they will still run if placed in a dishwasher OR in a sink to wash.   So I would tell whoever I gave them to, to not do those things!  But from then on, I give it a quick spritz with a matte finish spray.  And the one I tested, only by handwashing, havent run it through dishwasher, it has not run.  Hope this helps!

Yes, it's so great that we get the storage sheet right with the stamp set. That is such a bonus! Cat, GKD DT/Moderator said:

They did not use household cleaners on them, just a damp rag.  Nor did they go in the dishwasher.  That is all I know at this point.  I will actually see them tomorrow and maybe I can figure out more.
